i guess i know IABU with the out the house part but AIBU as to why??

I am 17 weeks preg with my first baby so far i have had a terrible pregnancy i suffered badly from sickness for the first 12 weeks and tho it is ony maybe once or twice a week i am still being sick now, i have been so tired all the time and feel down as it is effecting my social life as am so sick/tired i don't have the energy to go out. I also have had 2 urine infections have has bad heartburn for the past 2 weeks and had terrible constipation the whole time. AND i have back problems so sitting at my desk at work every day has turned into a pain litraly... so feeling pretty damn sorry for myself at this point

My sister has told me im preg not dying and to get over it i shouldn't complain, she was preg at 17 so went straight from school to benfits so there was no tiredness issues for her as she could sleep any time she wanted (1 or 2 naps a day) she had no sickness at all, had heartburn that a glass of milk sorted and felt so good during her preg she went clubbing (not drinking) every weekend up until the sat before her DD was born she also was at an ann summers party when she went into labour and stayed to the end so obviously she was feeling pretty good up until then, she also lived with my mum the whole time so had no housework to do or bills to worry about...

After weeks of being told to get over it i snapped told her she should be thanking her lucky stars she had such a good preg it could easily be the other way around... her answer was 'god just get on with it' now i know it was childish but told her to piss of home n not come back but sooo sick of listening to her rubbish

sorry for the long post rant over

Erm.. i think YAB a bit U, pregnancy hormones though right?

To be honest, your pregnancy seems quite normal to me, unless mine has been bad too! I'm 24 weeks and i thought this was all part and parcel of being pregnant?

Sorry you feel like crap though.

YANBU you poor thing. I had a pregnancy like yours and feeling constantly shitty for 8 solid months is not entertaining. Pregnancy can be an illness, actually; your sister needs to start supporting you.

YA(probably)NBU. Having a horrible pregnancy is, well, horrible. If you're ranting at her every five minutes then maybe she can complain, but if she's just dismissing how you're feeling because it's not the same way she felt then she should get over herself. I hope you feel better soon.

Possibly unless you've had pregnancy sickness you dont know how bad it feels. I sympathise. Perhaps you can make up with your sister in a couple of days but let her know that you don't want any more negative comments.

I don't like to complain at work or anything but felt that with my mum n sister i could have a wee moan. Have been very annoyed at my sister in general as she's had it very easy, easy pregnancy lived with my mum so never had to clean cook or wash even baby clothes, shes never worked so my mum paid all the bills, my mum babysits every weekend over night and has done from when niece was 6 days old she also done all the night feeds, get a bit fed up that she doesn't seem the realise how easy she has it doesn't live in the real world... says if im so tired to give up my job, and just get DP to do all the house work so i can relax at night.

I have to work, clean, cook and wash just like we all do plus feel rubbish think i should be allowed a bit of a moan at home.

I know how you feel - I had a really shitty pregnancy and was so sick that my GP signed me off work for a month and was a one point nearly admitted into hospital. dont be so hard on yourself and I dont blame you for feeling put out by your sisters attitude.

I dont know if this will help, but when i have heartburn (which seems constant at the minute) i eat polos, they seem to work!
Also have you tried a hot water bottle under your back when you're at home? Worked wonders for me.
Don't have any tips for the sickness cause absolutely nothing helped for me!

oh no problem with the fact she is on benefits my closest friend is too only that as she has always lived at home she's never had to worry about money so doesn't understand that just packing in my job is not an option and also doesn't realise that even when ur not preg working can be tiring.

So chronic constipation, vomiting, back pain and heartburn isn't an illness. Of course pregnancy itself isn't an illness but those so-called "side effects" sure add up to one sick mamma. Any non-pg person suffering from all of the above wld probably describe themselves as ill. It's certainly not a picture of health. Add on tiredness & hormones and YANBU. Your sister shd realise it not all the same as her experience and back off. And OP shld just observe and check she's not moaning tooooo much - it can be a real downer for those around you Grin

Gaviscon Advanced (on prescription) worked for me when all else failed.
