AIBU re Pizza Hut buffet?

I took DS to Pizza Hut today for a treat. We both ordered the all you can eat buffet. DS' plate consisted of 1 slice of pizza, 5 slices of cucumber, 3 cherry tomatoes, croutons, a bread stick, potato salad and some bacon bits. I had 2 platefuls of filled of salad (lettuce, onion, beetroot, potato salad, peppers, cucumber, sweetcorn, peppers etc) and also had 4 slices of pizza altogether (but didn't eat it all).

However, I witnessed one very large lady fill her plate with a slice of every pizza available (6 pizzas), topped with pasta. She did this twice while we were there. Plus, as soon as new pizzas arrived people swamped the table and took way more than a human with a normal sized stomach could eat!

Is this normal practise in Pizza Hut?! Or do I just live in the wild??

would it be ok for a skinny person to eat the same

and if so would you refer to that person as ' one skinny person went up twice?'

I don't go to buffets much, and try to eat a sensible balanced diet, but when I do go to a buffet I like to enjoy myself and eat as much as I can. In fact I starve myself all day so i can do so Grin

I still resent my experience at Pizza Hut 35 years ago. DS was 4, he and I went. Every time pizzas were put out, 3 teenage boys would run up and grab all the pizza. Such greed!

You are being unreasonable to think of Pizza Hut as a treat!

I have been before but could not eat that much as didn't like it.

A while back DH and I were in Pizza Hut.

A group of lads -4 of them- about 12-15 yo raided the pizza buffet, taking about 6 slices each and emptying what was there.

Then they deliberately took one bite of of each slice and left the rest.
The manager was called, but there was nothing he could do.Just lectured them on the waste and their greed.

So people eating what they can is one then.
Deliberate, crass, stupid waste is another.
And yes, the little c**ts laughed.Angry

I dont think it was.. there were very few pizza places back then. My mum used to take me to PizzaLand in Bolton. We would have a platter, which was half a small cheese and tomato pizza, with a jacket potato, and coleslaw.. and very nice it was too! It is still one of my favourite meals at home.

Well I think 4 slices is excessive, and I'm fat !!!

YABU. It's all you can eat and she can obviously eat a lot. DH would be the same. I'm always quite disappointed at how little I manage to eat at all you can eat buffets despite good intentions of getting my moneys worth and semi-fasting before I go.

I talk a good game when I hit an all you can eat place.

Starve myself and gee myself up for the scoffathon.

But I fizzle out after one plate every time.

Shock

I went with a mate once, and she ate 15 slices of pizza... no salad..

I have to admit I was a bit Shock ... and more so when a week or so later she a)told me she had a wheat allergy and b) blamed it on her inability to lose the 10+ extra stones she was carrying Grin

I am 42 and there wasnt even a McDonalds when I was a kid in our nearest big town.. the first real fast food I had was KFC when I was about 10.. and it gave me food poisoning.. I still cant stand the smell of those lemon hand wipes now... oddly enough I can happily eat the chicken still!!!

Didnt have a kebab until I was about 20 either...

The closest thing I got to fast food as a kid was a bag of hot new potatoes or a black pudding as I walked round Bury Market with my mum!
