To think Bert and Ernie should go ahead of the wedding and to hell with cookie monster ?

(27 Posts)

Pah, those miserable sods at Sesame ave called the wedding off as too controversial, I was rather looking forward to it, this would have been bigger than the royal wedding had it gone ahead sad

Oh, honestly.

itisnearlysummer Fri 12-Aug-11 11:05:05

To be fair, I think we all saw it coming.

Has anybody even asked what Elmo thinks eh ?

Georgimama Fri 12-Aug-11 11:06:24

It was never on was it, just a petition online to ask SS to do it?

I didn't <<wibble>>

picnicbasketcase Fri 12-Aug-11 11:06:56

I think they have a very good point - puppets don't have any sexual orientation, so why would they get married?

And why, may I ask, did mumsnet not support this petition ? <<steely glare>>

FantasticVoyage Fri 12-Aug-11 11:07:49

Why do Bert and Ernie need to be married?

I don't remember a huge clamour for Morecambe and Wise to get married when they shared a bed.

Because they loved each other picnic ?

Or does that not count for anythig these days ? <<hoists bosom>>

cheesesarnie Fri 12-Aug-11 11:08:48

picnic-they are not puppets!!!shock

faverolles Fri 12-Aug-11 11:09:38

StealthPolarBear Fri 12-Aug-11 11:10:29

picnicbasketcase Fri 12-Aug-11 11:10:37

Died? shock Do they usually kill off puppet character on Sesame Street?

MyCatHasStaff Fri 12-Aug-11 11:11:50

Bert is fascinated by pidgeons
It would never have worked.

thesortinghat Fri 12-Aug-11 11:15:27

Picnic that just made me <dons hard hat> lol grin

I want to know what Oscar the Grouch said, he strikes me as bigoted.

Didn't George, Zippy and Bungle share a bed, who knows what was going on there.

faverolles Fri 12-Aug-11 11:16:53

My mistake, sorry blush. It was an unfounded rumour. I googled it.

In light of the fact he is still alive and well, I think they should get married to celebrate.

cheesesarnie Fri 12-Aug-11 11:17:42

shock seriously i have to hide this thread,my children is disapearing down the drain.

cheesesarnie Fri 12-Aug-11 11:18:19

childhood i mean children are fine

Honeydragon Fri 12-Aug-11 11:21:53

they have lived together since 1969, why force them to partake in an outdated ceremony. It's just a piece of paper etc etc

<hoists bosom also>
