Sleep paralysis

I have experienced sleep paralysis for years , being awake while my body is asleep and on the whole it is a scary experience which comes with hallucinations and sometimes the feeling of being dragged off the bed .
It happens when I am over tired an because know one I know had it I was wondering if anyone on here has it ? Is there any cure and does anyone think this is a slep disorder or something more spooky? Like I say it Can be terrifying. Being a believer in all things supernatural I'm not sure what to make of it I would love to hear what others think.

That sounds pretty scary. I had dreams when I was younger which ended with me being still asleep, in the (scary) dream but feeling the bed underneath me. In one dream I saw a ghost and was running away from it only to fall on my back, unable to move. It took a little while for me to surface from the dream - felt very real and very scary.

I get this.
I hear a metallic twanging in my ears and feel an urgent need to wake up but I can't. I try to scream and shout to wake DH but can't make a sound. I feel that if I don't wake up, summat 'orrible will happen.
Very scary when it happens. I find that it happens when I sleep on my back.

I used to get (and still occasionally do) out of bodu experiences. It crosses over to sleep paralysis and sometimes had me in the corner of my room looking down. Scares the absolute shite out of me everytime. Although once its over the sense of panic has gone leaving awake and bewildered. Noted when I was about 17 that getting stoned made it a LOT worse. Never touched the stuff since. Being overly hot seems to make it worse for me. But tirdness makes no odds.
