An establishment like 'Hooters' is pathetic and wrong?

FabbyChic Sat 06-Aug-11 08:54:39

Supply and demand.

You get places like this all over the world. Who gives a monkeys, I have never given it a thought. Be a pretty shit life for me if I did.

YANBU
both pathetic and wrong.

Lara2 Sat 06-Aug-11 08:58:15

YANBU - puts us all back in the Dark Ages.

BimboNo5 Sat 06-Aug-11 09:05:33

Fabby I thought yours already was with the bile and nonsense you regularly spew out on here?

squeakytoy Sat 06-Aug-11 09:18:06

The chicken wings are rather nice actually.

PuppyMonkey Sat 06-Aug-11 09:20:05

I live in Nottingham which was famous once as the only British city to have a Hooters. So proud.hmm

squeakytoy Sat 06-Aug-11 09:24:05

And now Nottingham is the gun crime capital of the UK... best we ban Hooters then...

PuppyMonkey Sat 06-Aug-11 09:27:56

Nottingham hasn't been gun crime capital for ages. Just saying.

SandStorm Sat 06-Aug-11 09:30:55

I've never heard of them. Is it a burger bar or a strip joint? TBH, sounds like it could be either.

bananasplitz Sat 06-Aug-11 09:32:04

dont go there

simple

Deesus Sat 06-Aug-11 09:34:28

I think it's kind of both sandstorm....

squeakytoy Sat 06-Aug-11 09:35:01

It isnt a strip joint.

CogitoErgoSometimes Sat 06-Aug-11 09:36:30

'Pathetic and wrong' is your judgement. Others may think 'cheeky fun'. If no-one went through the doors it would close down so there must be enough people in the latter category to make it worthwhile...

SquidgyBiscuits Sat 06-Aug-11 09:37:54

If you don't like it, then just don't go.

As it goes, plenty of people obviously do like the place. I don't see the point really as it is not a strip joint and as a bar it is pretty shit.

follyfoot Sat 06-Aug-11 09:38:53

Its where young women (spray tanned orange) who wear orange foundation and very brief outfits consisting of orange shorts and low cut orange tops, serve food and drink.

BimboNo5 Sat 06-Aug-11 09:40:28

I wont go, does that mean I cant object to a concept?
I dont buy the daily sodding mail either, does that mean I have no right to object to their utter drivel and bile?

squeakytoy Sat 06-Aug-11 09:42:01

I fail to see how you can object to somewhere you have never been, or something you havent read.

I do however find your username quite ironic grin.

BimboNo5 Sat 06-Aug-11 09:42:02

It always amazes me as well tbh, how many women seem to have no qualms about other women being objectified and sexualised for the menfolks gratification all the time and have such apathy about it. It worries me such people may be raising the next generation of women.

squeakytoy Sat 06-Aug-11 09:42:57

Follyfoot, you missed out the 40 denier thick orange tights too!! grin

BimboNo5 Sat 06-Aug-11 09:43:15

So my username must be because im a Bimbo must it?
Wrong again Squeaky, its after the Mambo no 5 parody Bimbo no 5 about Bill Clinton. So fail there, again.

BimboNo5 Sat 06-Aug-11 09:44:33

You dont have to have been somewhere to know what the concept is do you? Ive never been dogging but I understand the concept of that too...oh wait what the hell why say that at all, I could JUST NOT GO hmm

squeakytoy Sat 06-Aug-11 09:45:29

Bimbo, the women who work at Hooters are not trafficked there, and forced to work against their will. They CHOOSE to work there. I have no apathy, I believe in people being able to do what they want to do, without prudish disapproval from others who look down their noses at them.

BimboNo5 Sat 06-Aug-11 09:50:00

Why is it prudish to believe sexism is a bad thing Squeaky please tell me that? I would feel exactly the same if a chain only employed fake tanned beefcakes for women (or men!) to ogle at and take part in pathetic paegents believe it or believe it not!

squeakytoy Sat 06-Aug-11 09:52:33

I dont see it as sexism. I have been in hooters plenty of times. Its a gimmick. It makes money. The women who choose to work there make good money too.
