Odd question.

Why did they say they were asking?

Did they mix up your DD with another persons daughter? If they haven't seen you in years?

hhmmm, i got these sort of questions after ds was born. my husband has a lot of disabilities/ medical problems- do you or her dad have any medical issues? maybe they were "wondering" if dd had them too?

Has she ever not been ok physically? [baffled]

Maybe they were asking if she was ill? did you ask them what they meant?

Very weird. Sounds like they expected your DD to have problems .. do you have a disabilty yourself? Had they seen your DD as a younger child. perhaps they thought she looked like something was wrong.

Sounds like clumsy phrasing to me. Surely people ask this question in varying terms/subtleties? "How's [x] getting on" "Still bright and as mischievous as ever?" etc. ad finitum - it all adds up to the same basic query doesn't it ie. is she well? Or maybe I'm just odd too.

Perhaps she is recruiting for some Victorian style mill?

"How is she physically, Really? Good upper body strength you say? Hmmm"

I was thinking Soviet-era Olympic talent scout myself.

Is she hitting puberty? Maybe just 'how's she coping with that?'
