that men prefer a shaven or hairy fanny?

I've just started seeing someone new and I feel that tonight (when he's cooking me dinner at his house - very romantic) some serious shagging i reaaaally hope will might occur :o

Desperate? Me?? Nah!!!

So, I was chatting with a male friend yesterday and we are very comfortable with each other and the subject of hairy/shaven fanjo's came up, and he said he can't stand hairy fannies, puts him right off, and most men think like this. Wanker! I have a hairy fanny and now i'm worried that it will kill the moment tonight!!! Help!

Varies from bloke to bloke. I'm sure most blokes don't mind a bit of hair but it's probably worth giving it a trim and making sure there's no stray spiders legs poking out the side of the your alluring underwear.

Erm. Well shaved? I think waxed is better.

WAX? Shock That must hurt, surely?! Does anyone use hair removal cream on their fanjo's? When I use it on my top lip, it stings!

I think some prefer shaved, some prefer natural. I would gues that younger men might prefer shaved as it seems to have become more popular these days.

But given the choice of sex with full bush vs. no sex at all, I think it would be a very small minority that would choose the latter Grin

IMO - most men prefer (and these days expect) a waxed / shaven fanjo.

However, someone will be along in a minute to tell you that is because they have paedophile leanings and should you wax / shave your fanjo you will be encouraging this, be being influenced by pornography and generally letting down women all over the world. They will also tell you they have pubic hair down to their knees which the plait for special occasions and swimming but their DH loves it because they are a natural woman.

Ooooh, just trim it a bit. It'll be fine!

I think your friend is a bit ridiculous, but there's no harm making a bit of an effort to trim in the early days... and then letting it go completely later on when they've realised there's more to relationships than pretty fannies.

I really don't think you can generalise -- every guy has his own preference. I have male friends who can't stand the hairless look, I don't think you can assume anything.

I think you should do whatever YOU feel comfortable with. Let's say you get a bikini wax in order to impress a new man -- are you willing to keep getting waxed for years if things pan out?

I personally go for a tidy look but my skin is too sensitive for waxing or extreme hair removal. If a guy didn't want to be with me because I have some pubic hair, I really wouldn't consider it any great loss.

I use hair removal cream, but the smell of it lingers no matter how much you wash so if you're hoping for some action tonight then don't use that. Once you get used to it it's good, i can make pretty patterns in my short hair now (stripes, zig zags, once a loveheart), it keeps me amused. Surprisingly i am single....

Most men will be so happy that you're letting them near it that they won't much care if it looks like the top of patrick stewart's head or the depths of the Amazon.

Speaking from a mans perspective, I'm pretty sure that as long as everything is neat and tidy down there, you'll be absolutely fine. Some blokes I know can't stand completely shaven fannies, so you are best to err on the side of caution. But most importantly, don't do something that makes you feel uncomfortable just for his sake - if you don't want to shave it all off, then don't! Just trim, and enjoy your evening!!

WhollyGhost · 03/08/2011 12:29

Depends on the type of man he is - if he watches a lot of porn he'll probably be conditioned to prefer hairless, among other things. And if so, there's every chance he won't be much good in bed, focused on technique rather than your pleasure.

I wouldn't worry about it. A normal man will just want to get into your pants regardless Grin

Besides, it is tonight. The plucked turkey look from waxing won't look good. Neither will the rash you get from shaving or cream. I'd just trim it and deal with any spiders legs, and enjoy the anticipation.

Hope you have a great night.

I use hair removal cream but wouldn't do it on the day you think/ hope to be getting some action! Have also tried epilating but it looks like a plucked chicken for a few days after, personally I don't like men with too much hair, it doesn't take much to have a bit of a trim, so wouldn't expect a man to have to put up with an overly hairy lady garden either

I would say most men prefer sex, and are not really that frigging bothered about inspecting the area too much.

I have never yet known a bloke who would refuse sex because a woman has what grows naturally down below.

So long as it is clean, and possibly tidied a little rather than looking like a wild shrubbery hanging down to your knees or springing out of the top of your knickers, I really dont think he will care.

FlamingFanjo · 03/08/2011 12:43

My DP doesn't like the shaven look but I prefer a well groomed fanjo so we compromise on the 'short back and sides' option.

I would say, well groomed is good, shaven can be a bit scary. Err on the side of caution.

Trimmed yes.

Shaven... I have two words... fanjo stubble. Eeek.

OP

I think alot of men undre 35 like the shaven look, but how do you want it?

IMO you should start as you mean to go on and have a little more confidence in your choices.
He likes you.

i have been with, ahem a few men in my time and i can honestly say i have never once looked down, seen hair/lack of hair and thought "you know what i've changed my mind" if i liked someone enough to have sex with them then the presence or lack of hair down there woul d have absoloutely no effect whatsoever on whether it happened. i really dont get why women concern themselves so much about what a man will think of their pubic hair. i have never heard women discussing whether they prefer a man to have hair down there or not so why on earth do you worry that men are rejecting women because of their pubic hair?

Report
bubblesincoffee · 03/08/2011 13:02

It depends how much hair you naturally have.

If you can see it when you are wearing a pair of knickers, then you need to sort it out.

Anything that is tucked away in a pair of knickers can stay.
