Holby City last night???? What happened???

Last night, watching Holby, paid very close attention to what was going on with Greg and his old friend from Dublin. I know that Greg was the one who beat his friend up but what was the reason. The newspaper article was not obvious to me, something about a coach dying. Please someone tell me what the problem was between them. I felt cheated by the ending. Confused

I live in Scotland so saw this on Friday but if memory serves me right it was that the old friend was holding a secret back about Greg assumedly that he had something too do with the coach dying, but no it was'nt clear.

Should also state that I saw it 5 days ago and was on the phone for atleast 29 minutes of it and I don't normally watch it :o

Like you, found it confusing. DP said that the implication was that their old football coach had abused them when they were young.

My DP thinks the coach was Gregs dad.. Still Confused

Same as JeffTracy - the coach had abused the kids but no one had said anything and it was a big secret between all or some of the 14 year old boys. News of the coach being dead had opened a huge can of worms.

Not sure it was Greg's dad - he would have known if he was dead surely. Also don't get the significance of the name change from Carl to Greg ??

Thought I was being thick, but the way it ended I had the feeling that the plot was over (with the newspaper article being thrown in bin).

Thanks for all your messages, I feel better now! Winkx

Thought they were brothers at first, they look alike.
DH reluctantly watches this as there is nothing else on(he normally goes for a bath). I think he secretly likes it now.

Hanssen wasn't in it. :( Therefore it wasn't worth watching.

Thank the Lord! Not just me who was puzzled by this storyline. I wondered if Greg had killed the coach in a past life.........? Agree with youdothemath, Hanssen is a legend. Also Jac, she has the best lines always!

greg is not a horrid rogue character so they will not want to tarnish his nice boy character by suggesting he just put a kid in hosp - they will make him a victim of some kind.

i expect that his friend was abused too, he threatened to tell or suggested to greg he knew about abuse/needed to come clean and greg beat the shit out of him. The abuser will be the coach - local prominent well respected irish man who 'helped' unruly/bad kids/kids in care, easy access to vulnerable boys. There will be a few of them who had been abused, and the 'best friend' thing, the bonding when younger and the friend thinking some kind of longer term loyalty makes it all quite predictable I think. And of course Sahira will find out and do her puppy dog eyes and say something like 'oh greg...'

Quite predictable I reckon.

but, i don't watch that shit. clearly.

Dont tell me the coach will turn out to be an irish priest.

DH came in when I was watching HC, and asked if Greg's non-friend was from Westlife Grin.

I also wasn't sure what was going on btw.
