I have just snapped the underwire in my most favourite, most comfortable and most loved bra. I did this while hitching the said bra around to make it more comfortable while lying down and reading MN.

AIBU to demand compensation from MN? Grin

Due to the deep distress caused by the snappage of my oldest and quite manky favourite bra, I breaks down in tears and cannot go on would like compensation for the deep emotional distress I have suffered.

Not quite good enough but will work on it Grin

Do you feel it is the fault of the new layout, which may have distracted you?

How do you know her undergarments have a new layout then?

Perhaps you could submit the invoice for having it welded!

I really am most distressed here and possibly spending too much time on here while lounging about but it was so comfortable and my old reliable.

My undergarments do have a new layout now

Welding certainly not needed but it was just my favourite.

perhaps we could ask MNHQ to recommend suitable lounging attire in the next 'Mumsnet swears by' email?

Why don't you channel it into the positive energy of getting MN to launch a campaign for manufacturers to make underwear where the wire stays IN and doesn't try to stab you through the chest by lunchtime or play peekaboo out of your V neck in front of your boss?

Good luck with your quest im still struggling to replace my bestest bra that died of a similar fate ......i have actually contemplated trying to put a wire in it from another less loved bra ....has anyone tried this with any success?.

springydaffs · 02/08/2011 13:16

duh, you can buy a new set of underwires in fabric shops/haberdashery depts. No need to grieve, grief not required.

ElectricSoftParade · 02/08/2011 14:10

Can you? I am very happy to hear that although not so happy about rummaging around the big bin to find the bra again!

Is it possible to snap an underwire? I feel my huge bosoms may not be quite as huge as i had previously thought if they are not capable of breaking underwire. That is a feat. Be proud.

Report
ElectricSoftParade · 02/08/2011 19:13

No pride, only sorrow.

It happened as I was yanking it to get more comfortable while reading MN. Lazy sod I am, should have just taken it off.

I didn't get into town today but, as I have no children for the day tomorrow (joy), I will explore the haberdashers for some sturdy underwires.
