how many have you never used and which one is your fave?
We have 23 books and a tin full of recipes torn out of magazines
We have 3 that have not been used
At the moment the most used in The preserving Book (pickled cucumber is yummy)
The worst recipe is Jamie Olivers pasta with broccoli in his 30 min meals book
The best is Rick Steins med escapes Parmigiana di melanzana

Maybe 10. I use the Nigella ones a fair bit and the River Cafe occasionally. Rest gather dust.

About 6-2 of which are Be-ro books!

They´re the ones I use mainly for baking.

Too many to mention - bu always seem to revert back to my mum's trusted recipes so they go unused! Blush

Dh has about 50. I haven't used any!

This is a great thread but I do fear I will be buying more recipe books after reading about people's favourites as I just can't bloody resist them!

I have about 10. The one I use most is Mary Berry, don't think I've ever used Jamie in Italy.

about 20 the ones we use most are the wagamama, river cottage family and a tex mex basic one. I have a word file with my own recipes to which I add my family standard recipes. the rest of the books I use sometimes for inspiration.

The most used is the 'Less is More' Mennonite cookbook. Bloody brilliant. I grew cucumbers one year just to pickle the buggers.

Dh is chef. I just looked at them all and can't be arsed to count them. Grin Then there's his recipe box.
I have my own recipe scrapbook with tested recipes I use over and over.

My favourite books are Company's Coming Coffee Cakes and Cookies; they have no fault recipes which are all good. ( The cookie link is the book)

Another favourite is Jessica Seinfeld's Deceptively Delicious. Great book for cooking for kids.

The worst is another cookie book with any recipe that asks for shortening in any recipe; I just substitute butter.

Wagamama has a cookbook! Grin

I have about 15. The most used is Gino D'acampo because lots of quick DD friendly dishes in there. Next is Tana Ramsey's Family Kitchen and then Baking Made Easy. I use lots of Delia recipes from the BBC website.

The least used is an Annabel Karmel one, supposed to be for mums and children to do together. The recipes are crap and have random stuff in that is unlikely to be in the cupboard.

I have maybe 25. Most of them have never been used! I like to have them though Hmm

The ones that do get used are Prue Leith's cookery bible which has everything in it you can think of and has never failed me

Also use HFW's meat book - I use his sizzle method for roasting meats and always need to check the times (which are about half what it always says on the supermarket instructions)

And simon hopkinson's roast chicken and other stories

Worst recipes were that bouillon one from delia @ waitrose which was bloody awful and led to a huge thread on here. Also one I don't know where from which was for game and called for about 20 shallots and gave me such bad wind I was actually a bit concerned Grin

Best recipes... will have a think. I always do them once and then change them so they are easier Blush

Nearly 10, but I hardly ever use them. I always end up using recipes from BBC GoodFood website instead.

I've got a bookcase just for cookery books... My least favourite is a Jamie Oliver - never bought another one. My favourites are the Nigellas. I have them all. The most used is an old Good Housekeeping one that has everything in it. I stole it found it was accidentally in my belongings when I moved from a furnished flat over 20 years ago...

We probably have about 100. DH is the cook and they are mostly his.

I have probably about 15, mostly baking and child focussed ones. I have little interest in cooking (but love baking!), but I have to cook for the children. My most used books atm are the River Cottage Baby and Toddler Cookbook, Baby-Led Weaning Cookbook and My Daddy Cooks.

My most used baking book is River Cottage Cakes and River Cottage Bread.

My MIL has a cookbook obsession and I would imagine she has nearly 1000 in her collection (some inherited). They have a separate section in their house insurance dedicated to them!

I have about 30... Most used is Nigella Express, Least used is Gordon Ramsey Cooking for Friends. I don't buy them so often anymore, I get the out of the library and copy the recipes that take my fancy into a notebook.

I'm frightened to count.... There must be at least 30.
I love anything Nigella does , Delia is my hero , Jamie good too .
Can't bear either of the Ramsays , so have nothing of theirs .
HFW family book is good too.

This thread has made me just count mine and the total is 63!

Most used are the Nigella ones and a Good Housekeeping one.

Least used are my Jamie Oliver ones.

Never used is Annabel Karmel.

I've probably got about 40 but I haven't counted. Quite a few are just 'collected' because they're unusual charity shop finds rather than useful cook books, eg a collection of world recipes from the 50's with an inscription in the front. I find I go back to Marguerite Pratten, Jamie Oliver, River Cottage and Xanthe Clay over and over.

At least 200 and probably more. Blush

Love Nigella, Anjoum Anand and Sheila Lukins, who sadly died a couple of years ago.

Most embarrassing is the Bush Family Cookbook. Or maybe the Elvis one called Are You Hungry Tonight? (Sadly no recipe for Don't be Gruel!)

Lots of foreign ones, lots of Eastern European ones.
