made discussion of the day when it was started at 17.06
whilst the hot topic of hareem pants, carrot pants and Asda joggers has been discussed all day

it IS a conspiracy

plus their thread is sad.. ours was/is fun

LineRunner Sat 30-Jul-11 20:07:53

Because no-one at MNHQ deciding 'Discussions of the Day' reads the threads' contents, just the titles?

They're In The Thick Of It, now.

iamamilkmachine Sat 30-Jul-11 20:41:34

I bet asda picked the discussion of the day.

AgentZigzag Sat 30-Jul-11 20:46:41

Honestly, all this conspiracy shite, you're paranoid hmm

<<smugly smiles at generous Asda payment in bank account>>

boursin Sat 30-Jul-11 21:16:35

first they delete the thread about a thread
and now they have silenced the original thread
oh my they are powerful

and I am talking in riddles and will shut up now

AgentZigzag Sat 30-Jul-11 22:32:29

No! 'They' want you to shut up grin

garlicbutter Sun 31-Jul-11 00:02:51

I TOTALLY disappointed my parents by not having babies dressed in the latest Asda hareem pants and/or carrot jeans. I will never live down the shame sad

My dad used to wear a flat cap, though. He thought it was witty. Come to think of it, he was also bald - so probably looked not unlike Boursin's friend's trendy tot wink

<emoticon about another thread>

izzywhizzyletsgetbusy Sun 31-Jul-11 01:21:50

That thread was a veritable entertainment centre.

It had everything going for it; carrots, harems, up & downmarket baby outfitters, caps, poo, nappies, buns, Turkish delight, pleasure domes, getting nekkid with Gok, AND a tortoise.

It may not have made Thread of the Day but it was Thread of the Week and will be fondly remembered.

<<sheds tear>>

AgentZigzag Sun 31-Jul-11 01:27:32

I feel cheated at not noticing pleasure domes being mentioned (not sure what they are, but they sound good fun).

<<fondly remembers buns>>

<<wipes snot runners away with disasterous consequences>>

LoopyLoopsTootyFroots Sun 31-Jul-11 01:28:07

WTactualF? confused

spiderslegs Sun 31-Jul-11 01:34:11

In Xanadu did Kubla Khan
A stately pleasure-dome decree:
Where Alph, the sacred river, ran
Through caverns measureless to man
Down to a sunless sea.

spiderslegs Sun 31-Jul-11 01:36:06

I'm not sure what Coleridge had to say about carrot pants though.

Thumbwitch Sun 31-Jul-11 01:38:27

WTF?? Have they deleted your thread, garlicbutter? Am shock - what happened on it? It was a perfectly normal and amusing skit on Boursin's thread, good humoured when I left it last night - what happened?

garlicbutter Sun 31-Jul-11 01:46:00

spiders, I am GUSHING with laughter!

<takes poetic toilet break>

I have no idea, Thumb, but we must admit boursin has more than adequately replaced it.

AgentZigzag Sun 31-Jul-11 01:52:25

'I'm not sure what Coleridge had to say about carrot pants though.'

Probably the same as the rest of us, what a fucking ridiculous name for a pair of trousers.

spiderslegs Sun 31-Jul-11 02:12:27

'As if this earth in fast thick pants were breathing'

Is what he had to say about pants.

Bizzarely in Kubla Khan too.

I can only assume they were carrot pants.

Thumbwitch Sun 31-Jul-11 02:12:37

Indeed, although I am confused as to some of the references because I was in bed asleep (aussie time) - sounds like it got very good! Can't believe MNHQ pulled it sad

garlicbutter Sun 31-Jul-11 02:16:01

I dunno, ZZ, he was a natty dresser himself. Not to mention opium-addled, so probably rather fond of a roomy Eastern garment at times.

garlicbutter Sun 31-Jul-11 02:17:15

Dream on Thumb, it never got any sharper than it was when you were sharpening it smile

garlicbutter Sun 31-Jul-11 02:18:18

Spiders, I totally bow to your literary relevance.

Just ... wow!

garlicbutter Sun 31-Jul-11 02:21:49

Can you believe this???!
Samuel Taylor Coleridge: Pantisocracy and marriage (wikipedia). Who the hell knew???!!!

AgentZigzag Sun 31-Jul-11 02:24:54

That's some serious bowage going on there garlic, I wonder who told him 'yeah, that looks fantastic on you, you'll certainly turn heads <snigger>' grin

You mark my words, let carrot pants get past without pointing/laughing and we'll be back to the bad old days of pantaloons.

garlicbutter Sun 31-Jul-11 02:29:04

I kinda like those - they might make my beer belly look smaller (in relation to my legs, but who cares?)

Am becoming enamoured of the Baggy-Panti-socratic utopia as envisioned by Coleridge. Preferably not in Wales, but maybe the opium and the whistling Welsh wind could do wonders for the pantaloons?

AgentZigzag Sun 31-Jul-11 02:30:45

Bahahaha at Pantisocracy grin

But seriously, remember Boursins prophetic words...

'it IS a conspiracy'

She was right shock

And I ridiculed her for knowing The Truth.

I regret that now.
