Hareem pants on a one year old boy

Met a friend for coffee today,
she had dressed her 1yr old in hareem pants, checked shirt and a flat cap.

I know it can be 'fun' to dress your child.. but I did secretly think WTF!
AIBU ?

Wish I had something more profound in response, but 'ick' is all I can manage!

Poor little soul Sad

We dressed DD1 in a blue baby grow that had a wolfs face taking up much of the upper half of it.

She never got over it.

Sounds like your "friend" may be a bit wanky, sorry.

Better than my neighbour who brought her one year old son to visit me...dressed in skintight jeans, socks and shoes and a long sleeved Rolling Stones T shirt on the hottest day we've had so far!

He can barely walk in the dumb jeans....plus he's chunky and his little leg rolls are getting squeezed! Sad
I said to her "He can't blinkng WALK in those jeans!" and she went Hmm

It was true. He was walking like a litle cowboy.

Either way, it's wrong!!

I'm trying hard not to judge claw, and it really doesn't matter what a baby wears, but it's just the <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=baby+harem+pants&hl=en&biw=1146&bih=718&tbm=isch&tbnid=ektlhdiQ27od5M:&imgrefurl=www.sustainababy.com.au/products/clothing/pants---leggings/Baobab-Rose-Baby-Harem-Pant&docid=tBq78_N2w4o-FM&w=600&h=600&ei=uzszTsTSLMWy8gOf8LWgDg&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=295&page=3&tbnh=126&tbnw=115&start=52&ndsp=27&ved=1t:429,r:5,s:52&tx=27&ty=54" rel="nofollow noindex" target="_blank">shape of them that makes me laugh uncontrollably.

I'm wrong to, I know.

Agent, ok admittedly very baggy track suit bottoms Grin

Ive seen lots of teenage girls wearing them, are they all the trend for babies too?

MumblingRagDoll · 30/07/2011 00:13

baby boy hareem pants

Not so bad...?

Report
worraliberty · 30/07/2011 00:13

I have to say they do look sweet on little girls imo Blush

But if I saw a boy in them I'd jump up and down excitedly...thinking he was about to grant me 3 wishes Grin

DS2 has some Bonds Roomies which look a bit like harem pants, but they are just well roomy.

Sounds like she was feeling funky and having a laugh.

Why are we even worring about the pants?

Flat cap?? Is she rearing a professional Yorkshireman?

Report
boursin · 30/07/2011 00:25

Nope, these weren't jogging bottom, floaty style but a sort of bright blue jean material, skinny leg to the knee then bagged right out, the checked shirt as a sort of flannel one and his flat cap was navy blue.. so she had a theme going on.

She is in advertising.. am I missing a trick?!

Gok Wan was sporting a pair TV tonight so perhaps I am way out of touch.
My son was in tracky bees and a george at asda t-shirt.. perhaps she'll be doing an AIBU post on me soon
