I think you've forgotten that you live with me, and that I'm the one leaving all the door and windows open.

Menopause? I've been like this since I had dch!

MirandaGoshawk Fri 29-Jul-11 22:23:09

Surely it's not going to get worse? <<despairs>>

Another one here sadly.

Ummm... sorry... what was the question? grin

Yep I'm with the rest - was looking for the milk the other day and couldn't find it, could have sworn I put it back in the fridge. I'd put the cooking oil in the fridge and the milk in the cupboard - wtf lol

Haha! Oh yes, I recognise this one alright grin

I sometimes forget the words - I know what I mean, but it is not always what I say. Couple of examples:

Said to my son - go hang your shirt up in your fridge.

Said to a kid in my classroom - pass me the ash tray. Bless him, he passed me the stapler I wanted and never missed a beat.

I am a secondary English teacher. This word thing is sometimes a problem smile

Tbh I've always had my head in the clouds, and no-one expects much of me at home by way of practicalities.

Have you always been uber-efficient? Because that just can't be sustained over a lifetime, really, can it? This is all nature's way of letting you chill a bit, I reckon.

Oh bollocks - DH is already like this! What's going to happen when it's both of us? Poor DD.

mumof2biggerones Fri 29-Jul-11 22:51:51

Or the usual - walk into a room to do something and can't remember why? I put it down to me being blonde...

It's words that go occasionally. Always to be replaced by something quite bizarre. Like how can anyone get "observatory" and "aquarium" confused? Got to say that the menopausal insomnia was the worst though. Unfortunately I can remember ever single sleepless night!

Pandemoniaa Fri 29-Jul-11 22:55:37

See what I did there? every, ffs!

Yes, I've become a bit forgetful about names. The only ones I get right are the dogs. I mix up the DD's names and recently I have called DH by an old (1972) boyfriend's name. Luckily DH is getting a bit deaf.

This rings several .......... ummm - several............. What was I going to say?

Combined with hot, flustered, wild of hair and emotionally unhinged I think I can safely say this is not the most fun I've ever had.

Lazydaisy55 Sat 30-Jul-11 12:19:18

Me too, I keep getting words mixed up, eg telling son to put the milk in the dishwasher whilst looking at the fridge!!

like forgetting this is AIBU and not Chat or General health? wink
