At Witsun Holiday we treated ourselves to a Romahome so we can tour the country with the LOs this summer.Well we're all packed up and off to dicsvoer Scotland tomorrow morning and arriving home for the augustBH. Yippee.sounds great or so i thought - but no hear goes ---
I was driving round with DH today getting the last few things and we stopped off at a cashpoint,as DH got the pounds, I just wiled away the time looking around and saw the horrendus sight that the van is to big to get under the barriers at KFC,so I'm guessing its to big for Maccy D's as well.
What are we gonna do? The LOs love eating in the van its a right treat for them and we put a dvd on the ICE for them to stoke back and relax.I hate cooking lol so we have about one a day cos the girls like them.
This has really put me off this style of holiday. Ffs bloody hub was all his idea lol.
I'm right cross would yoube?

Why not park round the corner and someone walk to the takeaway and collect your food? Or has a diet of nonstop burgers resulted in none of you being able to get out of the van door?

Leave him.

Park outside a Gregs. They don't discriminate with heightist barriers.

Give the kids a fag - it numbs the appetite.

What is Whitsun anyway?

The only person I know who seems to know about Whitsun is my Mother, who says things like "is it Whitsun you are going away?"

And I look at her like Confused and Hmm

Are you my mother?

... phew, thank goodness posters have already had the profound insight to suggest that ancient Roma skill: walking ...
Give it a go, OP ; encourage the DCs to have a crack at it too. It's really worthwhile, you know ... IME, it's an invaluable skill, can even be fun, and you never know what adventures you might happen upon once you take the brave step (see what I've done there?)....
You could also run, jog, skip, jump - but maybe just a simple little walk is a good start!
(This post was a pisstake, wasn't it? Please say it was.)

Whitsun - mid may.

there used to be a whitsun march when I was leetle. girls got new dresses and everything but I wasn't allowed to join in because I was church not chapel. My friend even got her ears pierced for Whitsun.

I know about Whitsun! These days it's Spring Bank Holiday (ie the one at the end of May, not May Day).

See, we've all got something out of this thread now...

OP, just send the kids into McD's or KFC to get their own Wink

You could always park in a disabled spot to get closer if there aren't any p&c spaces nearby...

YABU

Going on holiday is all about trying the local delicacies... You should be opting for battered haggis/mars bars not kfc.

Heathens.

I use the word devastated when something really awful happens, like say if someone dies.

If I had to walk a few metres to buy a burger I would probably use another word. Perhaps disappointed or slightly dismayed if I was being dramatic and liked words beginning with d.

WTF? Why would the barrier in your local kfc be the same as all the barriers in Scotland anyway? Maybe, just maybe, you will go to a place with no maccyds! Troll face!
