AIBU to think Danielle Lloyd should stop selling her story and concentrate in her babies!!

Ok, not anything major but I really can't believe that with a poorly baby in SCBU Danielle Lloyd has found the time to write and send her diary to OK magazine about the traumatic time!!!! She details the birth, shock and fear all for a few quid- Is nothing sacred?!

If nothing else, it raises awareness. They have set up a justgiving page to raise money for the neonatal unit their baby is in, with a target of £35k and almost £1k raised so far.

So 'selling' her story is much more preferable than being sat on her arse and not using her status to raise money and awareness for a service any one of us and our children could desperately need one day.

So imo, YABU.

Meh, that can all be done from the babies bedside I imagine.

You think she actually writes it herself? Surely someone writes it for her and she signs it off.

YABU. Have you ever had a baby in SCBU? Why shouldnt she have the time - tell us exactly what she should be doing? There is little for parents to "do" as such, except for pray. And possibly raise awareness of premature birth that also can help take their minds off the horrible fact there child is there.

I presume you've never had a baby in hospital. When they've got a load of tubes and that coming out of them, you can't actually pick them up. I got to feed my baby through a nasal-gastric tube every few hours. And change his nappy twice a day. There wasn't a lot else to do and if I'd been famous and been able to use the time I sat there fretting to raise money for the brilliant care he received, I would have.

So YABVVVU.

Sorry - should add that my baby wasn't in SCBU, he was in hospital a bit later. But he was small enough for me not to be able to do very much at all.

Let's remember that selling story's etc is how she earns her living, and tbh is she surpose to sit there 24/7 staring at her baby.

Who is Danielle Lloyd? This the second time today, I have no idea who a person is. Who is Keri Hilson?

Dunno about the baby/stories thing, but I have liked Danielle since I saw her win Celebrity Wipeout. No other reason.

Ok I didn't want to start a fightSad but yes as a mother who's baby was also born early and in traumatic fashion, I should have thought and realised she is using her status in a positive way doing this.

I guess I did judge her because she sells her story about everything. Maybe it just took me back to a place I felt was private to me. Thank you for pointing out how VU I am being.

She can't really do much else can she? The best people to look after the baby are the nurses & drs at the moment. She needs to feel like she is doing something to help her baby & I guess she sees her diary as raising awareness?

In the end, it is her choice. If this is how she copes, then all the more reason to do it.

Selbs don't write those columns, they call office, 5 min conversation, waffle added by staff writer.

I've never heard of her.

But someone said this is how she earns a living so I suppose it's second nature that if something of note happens to her the first thing to do is sell it off to the highest bidder. And also, being a WAG is not like a normal job where she might be on maternity leave with a position to go back to. These people feel they have to stay in the public eye or be forgotten, rich footballer husband or not (which one is she married too?). And is he still going to work?

YANBU to compare this to your own experience and wonder why she responded so differently to you, not when it's something that can be so distressing and frightening. But hopefully she donated that fee to the hospital and she is doing something to raise awareness and get donations to help the SCBU and in turn help other babies and their parents.
