Oops sorry don't know what happened anyway: I went to see these pans had a big demo lasting 4 hours and ate food cooked in said pans. The pans were ok. Then I found out they cost £3000 so obviously I didn't buy them. The pan seller keeps calling me and I keep saying I can't really afford them. I feel guilty as the pan seller is a friend of work collegues and now I'm getting to a point were I might be rude. AIBU or is 3k too much for pans?

do you own a restaurant and is it 300 pans?

otherwise YANBU

3k is very reasonable for enough pans to start a pan shop.

YANBU the seller is for being so pushy! A four hour demo seems very dull.

Do you even need to ask this? Total rip off imo. (and I thought Pampered Chef et al was a bit steep! Wink)

4 hours!! I do a Christmas dinner quicker than that in my cheap-ish Debenhams pans.

I don't own a restaurant. It's seven pans and a terrifying chopping thing. The pan seller made cake in the pans with cabbage in if it has any bearing on the story. She has left me three voicemails in the past twenty mins regarding pans.

My fitted kitchen didn't cost three grand!
What's so special about them?

You didn't MAKE her take a crap job selling (or indeed, not selling many) over-priced pans.

Oh, the cake and cabbage pan illusion. It didn't fool Penn and Teller.

Hit her over the head with the heaviest of said extortionate pans and tell her to beggar off.

Three K? For seven saucepans?

I think I need to lie down...

Are the pans made from gold?
Can you lean over and whisper a recipe into them and then they produce the finished product as if by magic?
Can they make shit cooking taste good?

Or are they pans like the one in the porridge story - if you say "cook, little pans, cook!" will they turn out serving after serving of something nicer than porridge?

onepieceofcremeegg · 17/07/2011 21:18

What is the story with the cake and cabbage?

The pans are not magic pans. I nearly swallowed my own Tongue when I discovered they were 3000 pounds.

I would want a whole new kitchen for 3k, never mind a frigging set of pans!

Apparently these pans enable you to put totally inappropriate things in otherwise nice chocolate cake eg cabbage and radishes. The cake was strange, I ate it to be polite, maybe the pans were a bit magic after all.

These "parties" do me in. Them and the ones selling the overpriced knifes.

Tell her "I've said no. Please desist from ringing me. If you call me again I will telephone the police and report you for harrassment"

3K??!! Either a) scam involving pyramid selling or b) wot Hassled said.
