I'm at my tether's end. If you know someone called Clive (unsure of surname - sounds like Edersley), who lived in Solihull in the 1980s, was married with 2 kids, ran a kitchen business, played piano, studied at the Open University in 1984 (that I know of) please PM me.

I can promise that I am not seeking money or revenge so they are perfectly safe. I am not mad or evil. Promise.

* crawls into corner.

YABU if you think we won't want more detail!

IvyAndGold Fri 15-Jul-11 22:54:04

what belledame said!

allosaurusrex Fri 15-Jul-11 22:54:55

Promise to give more detail later. Honest, just not yet.

bringinghomethebacon Fri 15-Jul-11 22:55:05

Is Clive your father? Sorry I do not know him.

Tchootnika Fri 15-Jul-11 22:55:14

Er, noooo... Neverrerrdofim. Why???

ZacharyQuack Fri 15-Jul-11 22:56:03

If you don't tell us, we'll speculate wildly.

Do you have his dog?
Do you want to tattoo his name on your arse but want to check the spelling?

bringinghomethebacon Fri 15-Jul-11 22:56:36

And sorry you need to find him so badly. Have you though about using a private investigator? They are quite cheap actually and often do a no find no fee service for about £50-100 although not being sure of the surname or date of birth will probably put the price up a bit.

TidyDancer Fri 15-Jul-11 22:56:51

You absolutely have to say more!

<can't handle suspense emoticon>

<taps feet>

Spill!

(I have an aunt who lived in Solihull round about that time, long shot, but I'll ask her tomorrow)

crazynanna Fri 15-Jul-11 22:57:19

Is he your dad,OP?

PippiLongBottom Fri 15-Jul-11 22:58:33

I'll ask my dad he's a brummie. What year was Clive born roughly?

thisisyesterday Fri 15-Jul-11 22:58:51

you are in love with him???

thederkinsdame Fri 15-Jul-11 23:02:26

Have you tried the OU alumni?

BimboNo5 Fri 15-Jul-11 23:05:21

Is it Clive Addersely? Lived near Dickens Heath Solihull?

hester Fri 15-Jul-11 23:07:40

Have you found him, Bimbo?

BimboNo5 Fri 15-Jul-11 23:09:07

Nope, dont know him from Adam.

allosaurusrex Fri 15-Jul-11 23:11:02

Sorry for being cagey. I wouldn't have posted if I hadn't had a couple of wine tonight. Let's just say it's been playing on my mind for a while, google has not been my friend (nor many, many hours on various websites) and money for PI probably not available in the near future.

Probably born around 1947. No luck searching for OU alumni on public websites, don't really know enough specifics either to do a proper search.

Bimbo: It could be. Does he fit any of the other specifics?

hester Fri 15-Jul-11 23:11:06

You tease grin

BimboNo5 Fri 15-Jul-11 23:12:15

Sorry im only being daft, slap my wrist.
Friends reunited, facebook, geneology websites etc?

tethersend Fri 15-Jul-11 23:13:53

I am your tethersend smile

PippiLongBottom Fri 15-Jul-11 23:14:55

Bit older than my mum and dad but I'll ask them. My mum has 2 brothers who both still live in Bham.
When you say kitchen business, like fitting kitchens or selling them?

allosaurusrex Fri 15-Jul-11 23:15:48

It's ok bimbo. I know I'm being weird and silly. Have tried all those websites. The problem is the surname. I'm going by what I was told but it could have been misheard (on their part) plus taking into account differing accents it could be a wide range of things. Bah. Should have just started a Friday night thread on bumsex like any self-respecting MNer. blush

allosaurusrex Fri 15-Jul-11 23:17:01

Pippi: Fitting them I believe.

Tethersend. Lol. :D

tethersend Fri 15-Jul-11 23:21:34

Could you get an old Solihull yellow pages (from library?) Check the kitchen fitters?

BelleDameSansMerci Fri 15-Jul-11 23:22:51

Hope you find what/who you're looking for.
