I was out this catching up with an old friend over coffee, when this Wagged up to the nines teenager walked in to the coffee shop and openly sneered at our middle-aged selves.

Shock

The caah. Doesn't she know we were 18ish once? Wink

Well, hold your stomachs now, she nipped passed us to the loo, and when she walked back towards her table, I noticed that one of the ties on the back of her top had obviously dangled somewhere while she was abluting, and it was not canary yellow anymore, oh no it wasn't.

So AIBU to be feeling a teeny bit happy that retribution was passed?

Wink

That is karma indeed.

I never go for revenge when someone fvks me over. It makes me feel like a bad person so I end up feeling worse. And I think the universe will get them in the end. In my experience, it usually does.

Yabu.

If you are genuinely interested in karma, read up on it. If you were genuinely interested you wouldn't take such glee in someone else's misfortune no matter how negative or nasty they were.

Karma is very different from just desserts or revenge.

It's a beautiful thing, and not about embitterment.

Pet hate of mine.

well that ^ killed the thread.

So was it poo?!

I thought Karma was the idea that what goes around comes around, good or bad. Or at least that's how people have come use the word.

Guess that's wrong......

Well, Poo or Puke? Which one?

TheAtomicBroomstick · 15/07/2011 13:35

Well, I was sort of right. It's just the idea that all actions have consequences, goodness leads to good stuff happening to you, badness leads to bad stuff happening.

So it's the right usage of part of it, yes?

No itsabout the natural order of what is right but there is no vengefuk element to it.

Didn't mean to kill the thread at all - karma is a religious concept often misunderstood and that's a bit of a pet hate of mine.

Hairy - I get what you are saying (on a serious note) I really do and I have read books like the disapearance of the universe, seat of the soul And conversations with god ( all of which sound like they would be of interest to you if u haven't read them) and the messages make sense but I struggle to adopt these at times especially when I see shit things happen to children/good people/vulnerable people etc

It's hard - and if ms prissy teenager has shit on her top she deserves it! [hgrin]

YABU - teenagers all think they are supreme beings - they are wrong and they learn it the hard way. No lessons learned by shitting on her own top - just humiliation.

am i the only one who thought you meant she got blood on her top? how the hell would you get shit on your clothes (if you were older than 3, i mean - dd perfectly adept at getting poo in all sorts of places)?

YANBU - let's hope she walked round in it all day without realising. Yes I am horrible!

My 2 year old DD has got poo in places I didn't think poo could go. She has smeared it on the window. She has smeared it on the settee. She smeared it on our brand knew dining room table chairs the very same evening we got it. She even smeared poo between two CD's and squashed them together.

Back to the point. Did you not notice the that the teenager was "Wagged up to the nines", which I think means she was blathered? I've seen someone piss themselves when they've been drunk. And gotten puke all over them. And various other things. I can believe it.

I thought wagged up to the nines meant she was dressed tartily like a wag?

And I assumed poo!

Report
stripeywoollenhat · 15/07/2011 14:52

oh, i thought this meant 'done up like a footballer's wife'. obviously if she was drunk, then all bets are off regarding the smearing of bodily fluids...
