a Mars bar and a bag of flame grilled crisps.

Im on my day off and as DH usually cooks dinner (as he is home way before me most days) its my turn to cook. But Im ill and cant be bothered!

Ive got a cold and my eyelids are really swollen (wtf?) and all ive eaten today is a mars bar and a cookie - have no energy to lift myself out of bed to cook.

So DH will be home in a few hours and hungry. Mars bars are filling - right?

Flames count as one of your five a day. Or flavouring.

That's why chip shops were invented

Shove something in the microwave or do beans on toast or something

I would keep the Mars bar for dessert and heat up some beans or scramble some eggs or open a tin of soup. You will feel better after eating something proper and you'll feel you earned your Mars bar.

That's 2 courses, kidsscareme - nothing shabby about that.
Just remember a 2nd Mars Bar for afters.

Seriously though it's only one day - who cares? Just get yourself some rest.

It won't hurt him to do the cooking when it's your turn, just this once. Or get a takeaway. You're ill. Why are you even worrying about it?

Live in the bloody country so getting ANYTHING delivered is a nightmare!

Beans - check
Bread - no bread

How about beans on out of date pitta bread?

Think Im going to text him and say that if he wants dinner then he needs to bring some home or i'll breathe on him and pass on my germs :)

Not at all, a mars a day helps you work, rest and lay around on the sofa feeling ill play!

Ah I was gonna say that Ferret!

Im only worrying about it because he ALWAYS makes dinner as I work long hours and am often away and its nice to give him a wee break as cooking stressing him out! (he couldnt cook anything until we moved in together).

OP no it isn't. Serving up a mars bar and flamegrilled crisps for dinner is absolutely disgusting.

Where are the doritoes, dips and strawberry cornettoes? Grin

well i'll be all practical and mother-ish here and say you'll probably feel better if you get some proper food in you

and with that I order you to phone for takeaway

Chop the Mars Bar into small delicate slices and put on a posh china plate. Likewise, put out the crisps in a lovely bowl. No houmous? Sour cream?

Hope you feel better soon.
