on the trains and buses. Drives me mad.

Occasionally I point out to the ignorant git who's doing it that I might have to sit on that seat next. Why has this happened and become almost acceptable to lots of people - I see if every day.

Agree with this one....

It's disgusting....who knows what they may have walked on.....

Some people are so inconsiderate and selfish it beggars belief!

A campaign?

There are already posters on all the buses round here asking people to keep their feet and their shopping off the seats.

Never mind the seats - I put my M&S bag on the floor of the train one day, and when I got off I noticed there was a river running from the toilets, under my seat, and right across where my bag had been ...

Someone on the tube made his dog sit on the seat next to him the other day, in a totally packed train. I thought that was gross too, especially for people with allergies.
I just find it gross. It wouldn't be ok to put your street shoes up on your couch at home, so why on the train?

My SIL came to stay a few weeks ago and immediately put her trainers on my couch. I almost fainted!

Caprison 76 - fainting ha ha - but your sister in law is minging doing that isn't she.

I worded it as "campaign" as the thread before me was a campaign for something else - so I thought I'd just join in!

Wannabe - how absolutely disgusting letting a dog sit on the seat.

I'm always surprised at the amount of mums who seem to think it's okay to let children clamber about on the seats in the tubes/buses with their shoes on. Maybe they do let their children jump about on their sofas with their shoes at home?!!

There are notices on the trains. Plus the ticket checkers tell people to remove their feet if they see them. Other than that what can you do? It's a sad fact that some people don't care about other people or what they think. Hence dropping litter, chewing gum, not picking up dog shit etc etc etc. I saw an example of this yesterday, a man allowing a child to sit inside the trolly not in the special seat] in Sainsbury's. Presumably his child was special and priveleged, and shouldn't be expected to walk around the shop like everyone else.

Totally agree with you OP.

Another bugbear - people who sit in staffrooms and put their feet up on the coffee tables. How disgusting! Angry. Could be anything on their shoes.
And would they do this at home................. ???
