AIBU?

To surmise that I'm going to win £166m tonight?

Clearly the odds are very, very, very small. So that means everyone else each has basically no chance of winning.

It has to be won at some point, so given that no-one else is going to, that must mean I am.

I hope you do because if my colleagues win (I had no money on me when they collected for tickets), I will kill myself

No I'm sorry but you're not. The winning ticket is in my sticky mitt so there!

OP "no chance" is very different from "a small chance". It could be you!!! But it won't because it is mine!

Given that it's £166m, I'll happily share it 7 ways Grin

I had a weird conversation with my best friend on Sunday. She said she wouldn't give me any money but would take me shopping.

I said I want a million so I can buy a house. She said she would probably take me on holiday.

If I won 166 million there are at least 30 people I would give a million to.

She's a tight arse Grin

Juan - I think there's room for all of those things!

How do I find out I've won, it's not on the TV is it? What time? Don't want to waste shopping time you see.

Actually, my work syndicate is going to win. This is because, last Tuesday we (about 32 of us) put in and we won £2.80! We then won £5.20 last Friday - so it's definately us tonight!!!!! Grin

Our work syndicate won nothing last Tuesday and nothing on Friday,so its ours "third time Lucky" ( I could not believe the queue in tesco) Grin

If I won which I won't cos I dont have a ticket, I would give some to the person on the till that sold me the ticket.
Maybe a hundred grand. Maybe more if they were nice and not grumpy.

We've worked out that if we win, DH and I are going to give half of it to friends and family in chunks of £1 mill/£500,000 each. Then we'd give half the remainder to charity and live on the rest. Is that still being tight?

AuntiePickleBottom · 12/07/2011 22:04

yabu, it's all mine

Pointythings you would end up with about 40 millions that right?
I bet you'd always be looking at stuff and thinking, I wish we hadn't given uncle Horace that mill, we could have had rocket launchers on the yacht for that. . .

discobeaver - nah, we're very boring really. All we want is

  1. Not to have to work (especially DH, his job sucks)
  2. To have a house with enough space for all the books we want to buy. OK, this may have to be Buckingham Palace...

No yachts, no rocket launchers and I am so not interested in fashion that I would have had some original 70s maxi dresses left, had I not been born too late.
