Oh nothing terrible.

Yet. <<evil grin>>

Wait until he climbs up your curtains, hides behind the bath panel and leaves you to spend three hours sobbing whilst searching for him (because I guarantee the little bugger won't make a peep of a noise then!) or eats the meal you left on the side when the phone rang....

DogsBestFriend Sat 09-Jul-11 21:59:39

And oi! Stop referring to him/her as "it"!

He/she will punish you for that by peeing in your handbag! grin

MissVerinder Sat 09-Jul-11 22:00:59

Ha haaaaa, and he then makes himself completely indispensable, so that when he doesn't come in of an evening, you lie awake all night, wondering if he's going to be ok...

<evil furry kitten-cuteness emoticon>

Then he/she will start sleeping on your bed, dead centre and expanding to enormous size during the night whilst generating enough heat to toast marshmallows.

It will lie in wait by your pillow and attack your eyelashes as soon as you blink into wakefulness...
sleep in the bread basket..
poo in the flower pots..
climb up your jeans-or tights (ouch) - while you are wearing them..
and you will be its adoring slave.

HelloKlitty Sat 09-Jul-11 22:16:35

Tie a piece of elastic or string somewhere high...he/she will bash it for ages...especially if you put some foil or paper on the end!

Feel sad for lonely little kitty-kat sad. It sleep in your bed with you yes? smile

IgnoringTheChildren Sat 09-Jul-11 22:37:47

When I adopted a stray kitten at 17 I kept him in my room at night for the first few nights, until he tried to suffocate me by sleeping on my face!

Don't let the her/his cute behaviour and looks fool you - the cat is an evil genius and will take over your house and life before you realise what's happening!

glassescase Sat 09-Jul-11 22:41:02

Little kitty-kat will come and find you, Ignoring, and leave mouse parts in your bed for being MEAN.

so, yearning, little kitty-kat sleep in your bed with you YES? smile

Our cat cried the first night but he got used to sleeping in the kitchen.

He has a hot water bottle in the winter.

When mil stays to look after him she has a 4 page cat manual to refer to.

SarahStratton Sat 09-Jul-11 22:44:27

Our dear sweet little kitty cat SHOUTS if it can't find you/isn't allowed in bed/wants food/wants something that nobody can fathom.

Smellslikecatpee Sat 09-Jul-11 22:45:48

Oh I had this the first night I brought our DK2 (see what I did there smile ) home.

She freaked out every time DK1 ( smile ) went near her and I seriously regretted homing her. But she has been with us a year now and they tolerate love each other.

Give it a day week or two for the newbie to settle.

glassescase Sat 09-Jul-11 22:49:49

She will wake in the early hours...

and come into your bed YES!

cos you will give in....

If you are sure.. smile

I have a ginger tom who has the day shift on my bed. If I have a lie-in at the weekend he comes into the bedroom at 8.30 and sits on the windowsill staring sadly at me until I get out, and he gets in.
My other cat does days on the top of the wardrobe in DD's room.
Both do nights on the settee.

Fluffycloudland77 Sat 09-Jul-11 23:05:40

I remember saying he's not coming in the bed with us. He just gets in if he wants a cuddle at the weekend.

He's on my lap now with his fleas (bad cat mummy didn't frontline regularly).

kbaby Sat 09-Jul-11 23:13:46

Ours comes in the bedroom at 4am, climbs under the quilt and sleeps behind the back of my knees. Little cow cute, fluffy cat occasional bites my calves if I dare move. She does come in handy as a hot water bottle in the winter though.
