I have a 'friend' part of a baby group so hard to drop her and not upset group. She never replys to my phone calls (messages left on her answer phone), but has the cheek to ring me when she wants her children picking up or looking after.
To be honest she is always sweet as pie to my face so am left wondering if Im imagining it.
she invited us round last week, and no requests? maybe iv misjudged her but then she let slip she had thought she was working one weekend and wanted a babysitter but then realised her ex had kids.
Had she invited me before she realised?? who know. anyone else know anyone like this.

Who cares if you upset the group? People can only use you if you let them. I'll bet there are others in that group she doesn't use because she knows she can't get away with it on them.

Don't bother ringing her anymore. Don't waste your time. If she calls you wanting something, just 'Sorry, no, I'm not available,' and that is it till she gets teh hint.

Life is too short for moochers like this.

Lachesis is right. Some people are like this. Don't call her and let her leave messages asking you for the endless favours so you can either prepare your no answer or just ignore totally.

Follow your gut instInct. Some people really do take the piss and ate very nice at the same time. It's how they get away with it for ages.

I think most people have a friend like this. You just have to learn how to say "no, sorry, I can't help" in a I'm Taking No Shit From You Missus sort of way.

Can't stand people like this. I ended up with one woman just saying immediately 'what do you want?' when she rang. She was a bit taken aback, so I said she only called when she wanted something. She still asked for it though, cheeky mare, and got it!

Menagerie yes before I went round last week, I said to my husband I wonder what she wants. And said to myself if she asks for a favour I'm going to be rude and say to her face you only ring when you want something. But then she didnt ask for anything so I'm left doubting myself. Trouble is I always help people out if I can. But she only seems to want to know me when it suits her. Yes must get an answer phone.
