I go see films on my own all the time. It's a great way for some "me" time away from the family and my wife hates sci-fi. I am happy to say I'm one of only about 7 people in the whole country who hasn't read or seen any Harry Potter!

YANBU

I fail to understand why going to the cinema is seen as a social activity... you're sat in the dark in silence!

Sorry Blurry, I've never been a fan of fantasy, except the Lord of the Rings of course. It may sound daft but aliens and laser guns are far more "believable" than magic and dragons! :)

I go to the cinema a lot on my own - much rather curl up in the corner with a bucket of popcorn on my own and get engrossed in the film that sit awkwardly next to a friend! I get right at home - taking off my shoes and sitting with my legs under me. And its my treat for 2 hours to watch a film and not MN do housework at the same time!!

One of my most favourite things to do-cinema outing in the afternoon.
Last week went to prime time showing of 'Bridesmaids' alone thoguh. Very funny too.

I'm considering going in Friday morning after I've dropped the DCs at school. And I'm taking the DCs On Saturday anyway. Just thinking it will be good to watch it without having loo breaks every half hour.

I love going to the flicks on my own.

DH gets the grump, though, in case I see a good movie we should, IHHO, see together. He's never got over me seeing "Sunshine" on my own.

He recently got stupidly stupid on this when he didn't want to see "The Trip" at the cinema - wait for it to come out on DVD - but was gently miffed that I'd go and see it on my own. I am one of the teachers who have sod -all to do but see films during the holidays. Silly bugger.:o

Him, not me.

I fecking love going to the cinema alone Grin

The trick is to have good hair and makeup and heels, and flounce in with the expression of someone so TIRESOMELY well equipped with adoring pals and a retinue of men that thank GOD for the odd two hours alone in a cinema. I have spent years not quite perfecting this look.

I'd happily see HP alone but DH will pretend to come grudgingly along...
