H (let's forget the DH for now) works 4 days this week and is not at work today- I am full of cold and have decided to stay off work today as I feel terrible. When I told H this morning he pulled a face and said we'd get in each others way if I stayed off. AIBU to hate him ATM?

no you anbu, but I hate it when my husband is off seeing how little I do all day getting under my feet while I work.

As long as you stay in bed, it'll be fine Grin

He is right. Both DH works from home and it is distracting to have someone else around. I work part time and we arrange my days off so they differ to the days DH works from home.
Just take it as permission to have the day in bed so you don't disturb him Grin

Where does it say he's working from home? He's got today off!

Bit mean to blame someone for being ill.

Bruffin - he's not working!!! He works 4 days a week out of the house!
I was told I was getting in the way of his free time... I hate him!
Thank you already everyone - I am in bed, H is taking DD to school as I don't intend to move. I am going to go back to sleep in a min.

I think hes probably just worried he will have to look after you! Go to bed, get a wee bell and ring it for him every 5 minutes asking for a drink, pillows puffed up that kind of thing. Grin

Yes he is a cock, as you're ill.

But if my Oh doesn't get out of the bloody house for at least an hour today I WILL kill him.

Not just out of my way but just also out of the house just one little hour, do you know how much I could get done with one hour???

Sorry off track

I understand how he feels. If I were looking forward to a nice day in the house by myself I wouldn't want an ill person there either. But he should hide it better.

I can understand how he feels too, but agree that he should have kept that information to himself and made you a cup of tea instead.

He should be nice to you. The next time he is calling his last rights to be read because he is dying of manflu a cold, you might not be so generous and compassionate with bringing cups of lemsip and tissues and mopping his delicate brow.

I can understand the sentiment but agree it would have been better that he kept it to himself.

I have several female friends who are SAHM who moan no end whenever their DHs are at home during the day, so I don't think it is a male only problem.

Wakeup- urgh... rich tea and porn...!!! Horrible men!

Oohjar- are you my DH?! it takes so much energy to hold my phone and type.. I'm starting to think that I really should have got off my lazy backside and driven for an hour to get to work....
Just been asleep for the last 2 hours......crikey, I'm even justifying staying in bed on MN :( !!!

Redskyatnight has it exactly, sometimes it's nice to have DH working from home, sometimes he gets in my way. Sometimes the company is lovely, but sometimes it just isn't.
Your (D)H should not have moaned out loud if you are Ill, but I had to bite back several rude words when I saw DH was still home after the schoolrun on Monday. I'd recorded some tennis (but I couldn't watch it, because he's been very good about Wimbledon over the last two weeks)
