AIBU?

to be fed up about 3 huge spots on my nose

I spent about 20 years on medication for acne and rosacea, literally 6 months ago it finally seemed to clear up and I came off medication. But forgot how badly the sun affects it.....and I'm now in agony, despite sunblock with 3 huge whiteheads on my nose. I look like Rudolph The Reindeer as well. Pants.

Can you use clearasil? I also had the same problems and now use clerasil night treatments and they really work,

VV annoying! I've always found toothpaste to be most effective. Just remember to wash it off in the morning!

Not tried Clearasil, but will go check it out, thanks...really not keen on going back on medication unless I absolutely have to.
Does toothpaste work on huge living and breathing white beasts? Thought it was to dry out subsiding pimples....if so, will try tonight!!

If you squeeze them then yes toothpaste will work. But the clearasil 3 step treatments really work. So you have a soap, cleanser and a cream. Then a night treatment which you put on individual spots or areas.

Try tea tree oil, I usually find that it dries spots out quite quickly. I'm covered in spots on my chin at the minute, probably because I am overloaded with hormones as I skipped my usual week's break on the pill as we were going away for a weekend and I didn't want a withdrawal bleed, can't wait til I finish this packet and hopefully my skin will calm down a bit I feel like a teenager again.

Try this: www.acne.org/regimen.html

I've broke out in massive spots on my jaw line this week and have been doing this regime for 2 days and there has been a vast improvement. I've been using Olays Facial Wash (cheap in Home Bargains), Quinoderm (because thats the only Benzol Peroxide I had in, I've ordered a 2.5% gel though to switch to) and Liz Earles Skin Repair. I think the main advice given in the article though that has improved my skin is not rubbing when I wash and dry my face. You have to be very gentle so you don't aggrivate the area. Seriously its worked wonders, try it.

YANBU - I have suffered from bad acne since I started puberty (27) I still have to take the pill to control it (at one point I was on medication that involved testing my liver every 6months to check it wasn't being damaged!). It is VERY depressing. Thanks for the link Lem!

Don't worry too much - we're sensitive to spots and others probably don't even notice what seems a mountain to us :)

Than you for all the wonderful advice! Having woken up with yet another corker brewing but on my chin now, I'm going to Boots this morning!!!!

Sorry you think IABU lissielou....they are incredibly painful when combined with rosacea, so we will have to disagree.

sorry, I am not saying that I doubt how painful they are. I just dont know why this is in AIBU rather than health where people can help you and offer advice. I hope you arent in too much pain though.
