I am having a strange day.

I have just been introduced to someone, friend of a friend of a friend.

So far, so good, so proper.

But, as he shook hands with me, he adjusted his balls.

So AIBU to be repulverised, or should I have taken it as a compliment?

but i did giggle, its not what he did its that way you told it

Sausagesarenottheonlyfruit Mon 04-Jul-11 12:45:57

One hand on your hand, the other on happy sack?

Juggling or scratching?

Sausagesarenottheonlyfruit Mon 04-Jul-11 12:46:28

Perhaps you should have offered some assistance

fuzzpig Mon 04-Jul-11 12:47:24

I'm sorry to use a much-loathed term, but I truly did LOL.

Tis the first time DD has ever asked "what's so funny mummy?"

Needless to say I didn't tell her.

fuzzpig Mon 04-Jul-11 12:48:14

My preferred term for such behaviour, if anyone's interested, is plum juggling

GrimmaTheNome Mon 04-Jul-11 12:48:19

I do like 'repulverised' grin

No, not naice at all. Could be worse though... I'm assuming he did the adjustment with his left hand ....

itisnearlysummer Mon 04-Jul-11 12:48:42

So long as he didn't switch hands part way though...

NorksAreMessy Mon 04-Jul-11 12:48:47

what other strange things have happened today? That will help me to put this in context.

If your day has involved Bonobos; AI in cows; the sex life of octopi or sizing cucumbers for length and girth, then this does not seem at all odd.

However, if your day has involved drinking a frappacino; cuddling a kitten and picking strawberries, then this incident would stand out a little.

Details, my dear chaos , are everything

OTheHugeManatee Mon 04-Jul-11 12:49:20

It could have been worse. He could have removed the very hand from within trousers which he'd been using for a game of pocket billiards and therewith shaken yours.

NorksAreMessy Mon 04-Jul-11 12:50:10

or, he could have asked you if you would like to share

ChaosTrulyReigns Mon 04-Jul-11 12:57:13

Well you lot have made me smile!

TF it was outside his trousers.

Definitely readjustment of the little fella, not scratching, although Icm not sure which is more unnaice.

Strange day, Norks? I had to sit through this mindblower.

Fifis25StottieCakes Mon 04-Jul-11 13:00:48

Maybe he likes you and was ball juggling so you didnt notice grin

GilbonzoTheSecretPsychoDuck Mon 04-Jul-11 13:02:41

Unless he's a secret police undercovery type person.......have you seen True Romance?

It could all be a ploy. The evil machines to get your child's name, the secret recording of conversations, my my, have you recently discovered a shed full of wires or dug a hole and found a hidden bunker?

izzywhizzyletsgetbusy Mon 04-Jul-11 13:10:40

That's not at all naice. Such behaviour is uncouth and uncalled for, and has no plaice in po-lite soci-aity.

Unless, of course, one is an aristo, in which case it may be regarded as a charming eccentricity.

Did he shake with one hand and shake with the other simultaneously? Or <shudder> was the hand that shook yours used to make the unnecessary adjustment?

It would be a kindness to assume that the gentleman in question may have been experiencing a temporary hitch with his truss but, nevertheless, I trust you gave your mitts a thorough scrub at the earliest opportunity.

VelvetSnow Mon 04-Jul-11 13:14:24

You're lucky he didn't take your hand and put it on his balls - I've had that happen to me on more than one occasion.

VelvetSnow Mon 04-Jul-11 13:15:02

Of course, not in a meet and greet situation grin That would be very odd.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude Mon 04-Jul-11 13:17:24

Well at least you know he can multitask!

SydSaid Mon 04-Jul-11 13:21:49

I'm intruiged.
When were you first pulverised? I'm surprised you can still shake hands...

PinotsEvilTwin Mon 04-Jul-11 13:24:49

Did he sniff his fingers afterwards?

Badgerwife Mon 04-Jul-11 13:51:52

Wow, maybe you had an enhancing effect on his, well, ... and it got a bit crowded in there, hence the readjustment. Or he's got flees. Either way, his timing was a bit off, I'll give you that! grin

ChaosTrulyReigns Mon 04-Jul-11 21:13:44

grin at SydSaid.

No, no sniffing PET, haven't you got a pleasant mind. wink

PinotsKittens Mon 04-Jul-11 21:14:58

I'm back with a pure mind filled with thoughts of my fluffy kittens now, see? <twirls>

biddysmama Mon 04-Jul-11 21:16:31

maybe he was very excited to meet you?

glitterkitty Mon 04-Jul-11 21:32:32

Did he do the eye flick to your norkage?
