AIBU to think that this woman is taking the bloody piss?

www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3673011/Nigerian-mum-Bimbo-Ayelabola-flew-into-Britain-and-had-quins-on-the-NHS.html

I very much doubt she will be sent back. Who is paying her legal fees is what I would like to know?

Are we a soft touch or just a lovely compassionate country with enough resources for all?

we are a compassionate country, not likely to remain as compassionate with this government but i am very glad we are. we have certainly done our share of robbing and destroying other countries, and what is that saying oh yes we pay for our fathers sins, so if you do feel cheated, like we are being robbed then see it as pay back and you might not get so worked up about it

What a hideous hideous article. Prurience and racism all rolled into one.

Shame on you for starting this thread OP.

Eh? Exactly which countries did we destroy?

my ds needed to go to A&E in France. He was seen immediately (would have been at least a 4 hour wait here) and was treated and back at the caravan within 2 hours, all bandaged up.

And why shouldn't the OP start the thread? It's a subject worth considering don't you think? Where does it all end? The woman clearly came here under false pretences and with robbing our Health service in mind. And that's ok is it? Is it ok just for her or is it ok for just anyone who feels like it?

Well the British Empire has in the past looted and patronised many countries, such as India...I think that was what Freudian slipper was referring to...

No time Freudian. Why don't you just tell me?

What the fuck has the history of the British Empire got to do with this? Fuck all, that's what. Either deal with the matter at hand or STFU - history lesson is what we don't need here and why? Because it's pissing history whereas this abuse of our health system is current and if allowed to continue will affect us all.

Spoiling for a fight much, OP?

CQrrrneee - well that's because we are part of the EU and you had your EHIC card. Slightly different in cost from 6 months maternity care and a c-section what?

BornInAfrica - right on.

Makes me boak when idiots bring up stuff that happened 100s of years ago to excuse people taking the piss of this country today.

I refuse to even read any article printed in the Sun. It's a paper for racists, bigots and those with a low i.q.

I'm sure you're right Tiffany - and having lived in a country with only the most basic free health care and having to have very expensive personal medical insurance for yourself I can assure you this is NOT something to look forward to.

Meh, England takes the piss out of all the poor countries anyways....... have you been in Primark lately op ? Do you feel any guilt ?

Report
FreudianSlipper · 02/07/2011 23:01

well the british empire controlled many countries around the world, killed many people who stood in our way, took control of their resources, took away their wealth and historical artifacts, and imposed our religious beliefs and culture on them

sad you have the time to read such trash and rant about something that is so insignificant and not read up about actual history that has shaped the world and our country

Duchesse do you even know what prurience means btw? Quite odd to associate that with this story Hmm.

Don't use big words if you don't know what they mean [pats Duchesse's head].

I think that, based on this article, this woman is clearly taking the piss.

However: don't forget that The Sun, The Daily Mail and News Of The World all have an agenda, and will deliberately put a spin on things that will rile up the majority of the population.

Case in point: in The Sun today there was a story about a young 13-year-old girl who was tragically killed in a park when a tree branch fell on her head. But of course, The Sun had to go and deliberately infer that because it happened on Thursday when she was "supposed to be in school" and the selfish "teachers were striking", they made it sound as though the teachers were at fault for this death, and should therefore be hanged.

So based on this article, I'd have to agree with you. But I'm just not sure how much belief I'd put in their side of the story, if you see what I mean.
