jsut was out an an event and everyone wearing them was a rather beleaugered looking parent.
either
" cargo pants dad"
or " rucksack we are on a day trip " mum
or " hassled i didnt have time to brush my hair" slighy hippy mum (with long haired kids)
OR " wheres your sunhat white stuff a line skirt droopy mum"

sorry.

I will now keep mine for washing line run only

or (d) doesn't give a toss what some other random person thinks of them mum..?

(and I don't REALLY think you're concluding it "sadly" are you? You sound rather gleeful if I'm honest. Must be tricky being so perfect all of the time.)

Ouch, the truth hurts.
Recommendations please, anyone, for wide flat effortlessly stylish holiday-ish sandals?
(Hate flip flops)

what's wrong with the first 3 of these? Don't understand #4, but very intriguing.

What's the matter with the people you describe?

At least they're out with their kids and making the effort Hmm

In my experience people who care so much about what they look are very dull indeed.

I think you need to get out more Hmm

Birkies with a groomed foot look okay IMO

Birkies with curled yellow unpainted toenails and toe hairs NO NO NO

Grin at the white stuff where's your sunhat mum ! The one I know does indeed wear Birkenstocks!

Mind you I have clarks comfy version so am probably worse - they're not even a pretty colour, but on the other hand don't make my feet look like boats (but I have size 3 feet anyway so maybe birkies would be ok smug--)

I bloody love my Birkies. No, they're not the most stylish of shoes but they are good value considering how long they last and are great if you are: e) the mum with joint problems who loves the fact that these shoes are comfy and don't make her feet sieze up

(This is the thread for people stuck inside on a beautiful day because they have no summer footwear fit to be seen.)
Come on, people, positive suggestions please!

i am the total opposite of droopy

think it depends on the birkie tbh

plain pastel scholl type = frump

funky patterened flip flop type - coolio

Oh FFS. I ASKED about this a few days ago and mumsnet told me Birkies were alright.

Although, i am probably ' hassled mum who doesnt brush hair' so maybe should just embrace it...
