Hi advice needed on work situation a colleague of mine has become so controlling and making themselves very unpopular in the company , I really liked this colleague until they tried it on me, i was having none of it , sought advise and then challenged my colleague to make them aware of their situation, they were not happy , eventually backed down. this leaves a bitter taste in the mouth and am now dreading going into work to see them.
Any suggestions gratefully recieved.

You should speak to HR.

thanks they advised me to speak directly to the person involved as we have known each other and worked together in the past, I feel they have got off lightly as i did it with no-one else around .

Well, you've done as they asked, and the situation is not resolved if it's making you dread to go in to work. I'd go back to them again. They owe you a duty of care.

Thanks I had not thought of it like that , i have been in the same job along time and never had any conflict with anyone so it makes it feel worse , but again thanks for that i apprecitate it.

If you've not already done so, you should collate the evidence of the control freakery and the things that are happening to make you dread work. Take notes of things that are said and note witnesses dates and times if its verbal.
