What joyment is there to camp for 3 days in a mud pit, queue to use the toilet, stinking for 3 days and paying hundreds to see shit bands?
Or am I too old and like my conforts too much?

I couldn't imagine anything worse

The only way I might do it as if I could afford one of those special £7000 tents with helicopter landing space. Then again, I still doubt it.

YABU. i'm a fan of the cabaret tent and general festival sillyness.

I love it, but from the comfort of my sofa Grin.

I really really wish I was there, rain or no rain Envy

For me, a music fanatic, you can't beat the immense line up, party atmosphere and the all round brilliance of a British festival Grin

don't hate it, in fact have been three times (many moons ago when it was possible to jump the fence) and loved it although too old for it now. What I do hate is the fact that it now costs more than a family holiday on the med, the fact that its been taken over by trustafarians and the organic tofu crowd in their winnebagos and the sycophantic "isn't it wild and rock and roll" coverage it gets from the BBC. Anything that costs that much money is by definition not rock and roll.

Its a bit odd to hate something that you don't have to do and presumably has no impact on your life whatsoever?

I'll watch it as U2 are on but that's about it, too damn expensive for me.

I don't hate it, just have no interest in going. Will watch bits on tv though. I can hear the bass if I stand outside in my garden.

My sister is there stewarding. Last night she told me the mud was drying a bit, and she was up to her welly tops in sticky sludge. I don't fancy it myself - no showers, stinky loos and a town's worth of people in a field.

I don't dislike Glastonbury. I do however hate it when friends can't believe I have no interest in going, like I've just admitted to kicking puppies.

Tortoise where you to? My sis lives in Shep.

What do you do when your tent gets nicked? Is it like being at a bus stop in the rain for 3 days? Why do people nick tents? Do they go there without one? It looks like a refugee camp to me.

I'm with jeckadeck, was ok while it was a bit edgy and a bit wah, but it's all too big now. I haven't been for years, stopped going when there was too much petty crime and every other fucker stopped to take a piss on my tent one night. Too many arseholes go now, they're the only ones who can afford it.

I used to love it- twas my annual holiday- but, since Kate Moss and her Hunters, I can't help but feel that most folk who go now are wankers

I love it, usually steward on the cabaret field but dd2 is only 4 months d so DH has gone alone this year. There is so much more to it than the big bands. Am hoping to take DDs in 2 years when I will probably spend the most time on the kids field where they can learn some circus tricks. By stewarding it is free though and seperate camping so not so crowded.

Also found out I was pregnant whilst we were there last year!
