A blogger friend and MNetter is spending today missing her daughter Anabelle, who was born sleeping on 21st June 2010.

She is also gearing up for the weekend, when she will be hosting a fundraiser to support the charity SANDs. She and her husband have already raised over £1000 for the charity which supports bereaved parents and finances research into stillbirth and SIDs.

Her blog is here

And the fundraising page is here.

Please, if you can afford it this month, would you donate even a small sum in memory of Anabelle and the other 6500 children who died either at birth or within 4 weeks of birth.

And if you are on FB, or Twitter, please pass the blog link to your friends.

You know what, I have not a penny in the bank right now. But I am bumping this for you. I have read about Anabelle before and am really moved by all of the fundraising that this lovely couple have done.

When I can donate, I will.

CazandBelle
You are welcome. Hope today was peaceful for you.

Foxy
That is fab, thank you. If we can keep this bumped throughout the evening, it would really make a difference. I know that MNetters are great at this kind of thing.

Done.
I've been reading a rather upsetting thread about stillbirth - and this thread gave me the oomph to do something positive.
Thank you.

I get paid tomorrow and will donate then.

Sad for Annabelle's parents. My DD2 was born a week after Annabelle, I can't imagine the pain they're going through.

I know, it is too painful to even contemplate. Which is why I admire Caz for doing the fundraising, even though she and her husband must be hurting so much.

Just wanted to say thank you again! We are really overwhelmed by the generosity of your all xx

Belle's birthday has passed much more calmly than I thought it would. Last night we tried to send lanterns up the moment she was born; 00:08 on 21st. Unfortunately the lanterns didn't go to plan. It was just to windy, and when we gave up it started raining too. We got one lit and it shone brightly for Belle, but we couldn't get it to heaven. We sent a pink star balloon to her this afternoon though. We'll try the other lantern next Tuesday when we reach the year since her funeral anniversary.

Today has been such a mixture of emotion, as usual the build up has been far worse than the actual day. I've felt remarkably calm for most of the day today where as last Thursday (remember day, a year since she had died inside me) I was a complete state. We've cried for the birthday we wish Belle could have but have celebrated her and her 1st birthday with lots of pink, flowers, garden decoration, balloons and candles. I'm glad I did the mess bit last week so I could celebrate her life today.

We've experienced such generosity from everyone today. Lots of messages, cards, flowers, gifts and gestures. Belle's justgiving page has gone nuts today for her birthday.

It really was the perfect day to reach our target and go so far beyond. I think we're going to be gobsmacked at the final figure when I've counted out what we have in cash offline donations too. My friends work have collected almost £500 today, ontop of the sponsored walk (last friday) and the justgiving page and the raffle and everything we'll collect on Saturday at her angel day fete. I'm already amazed. We've raised far beyond my wildest dreams when I first started planning this.

I cannot believe a whole year has passed. Going to finish the day by lighting the lanterns hung outside our house for her. We've decorated the outside of the house today with new flowers and garden ornaments for her. We bought Belle the pink heart one for her birthday and a friend has given us an identical white heart one for her today. They look beautiful together.

Thank you for all your thoughts and wishes and donations lovely ladies. We really are touched. xxx

Caz, I have just recieved your thanking email. It made me cry. Sad

I am so in awe of your ability to post the above candid post and my email on a day like today. I'm glad that today could be a day of reflection for you, rather than total anguish that you mentioned last week was.

I am sorry not to be able to donate more to the fund, but I will light a special candle that my DC bought for me recently to give today the magnitude it deserves. (One of my DDs has a very similar name to Belle).

I think everyone should have a MmeL as a friend.

Again, so sorry for your loss.

Chaos.
