I can think of very few ways to describe a child that are less annoying than Bubs,AIBU?

Very horrible. My DD is chick or chicken. She loathes both. DH calls her Bobbins or Bobs which is virtually Bubs but an abbreviation because she is Bobbins.

I hate it too. Also, my vet refers to my dog this way. It's so annoying. Angry

It's for use by the Lolling Huns only.
At least it isn't Bubz, be thankful for small mercies.

And Bubba.

BUBBA.

When anyone refers to their baby as bubba it makes me think of that character in Forest Gump 'fried shrimp, broiled shrimp, shrimp with egg, shrimp with grits, shrimp with mo' shrimp'

Small Mercy is a good name for a baby though or bub

Bubba is worse than Bubs, for sure.

My cousin went through a phase of calling her unborn daughter "bubba girl" on Facebook. Now it tends to be "little lady". Vom.

It's not that bad. I don't use it myself though at least not when anyone else is around.

During my first ever scan the sonographer referred to DD as bub. It really stuck in my mind, probably because I was a terrified youngster and it made the whole thing seem more normal.

Bubs and Bubba are Americanisms, aren't they? Maybe it's less annoying if you're American.

My kiddies are my lil bubbas and my hubby is my hubby-mobile.

What is wrong with that?

A baby is a babby where I am (midlands) I catch myself saying it sometimes after so many years here Blush

I think bubba is an americanism.

Aahh, controlpants, I'm midlands too.

When I took DD1 for her 20 month check the midwife asked her to point to a picture of the babby in the book she was holding.

DD gave her an absolute classic Hmm face.

I wet myself.
