AIBU?

To think some people on eBay are just plain stupid?

I sold a cardigan on eBay for £20, Buyer didn't pay after a week so opened NPB case, a few days later she pays, late on a saturday afternoon.

I sent the item 1st class on Monday morning, I charged £2.60 for P&P (came to £2.40), today I see my P&P star has been demoted to 4.7 when before it was 4.9! Now I know I don't know for sure it was her but I am guessing it is.

If it is her, AIBU to think that she is being a bit picky over 20p? It wasn't just the postage I bought the posting bags too obviously.

It's P&P they pay for, not "postage". So YANBU at all.
You have to pay for envelopes, sellotape, petrol or bus fare to get to the post office etc.
She IBU

of course some people on ebay are stupid, some people on mumsnet are stupid, some people driving cars are stupid... annoying yes, not that surprising though.

(no offense to stupid people, they can't help it after all)

I only buy things on ebay if I think the overall price (purchase price plus P&P) is reasonable for the item I want, and I don't inspect the packages when they arrive to see if the packing costs were accurate - that is just so petty, imo.

Sometimes an item will be really really cheap, but the P&P is relatively high for what it is, and I think this is the seller trying to make sure they make a bit of money from the sale - which is fair enough, as far as I'm concerned. If I think the total cost is too high, I just don't buy - it really is that simple.

However, clearly some folks are even simpler, so YADNBU IRCL!

The star thingys aren't updated everyday...it's highly likely whoever demoted you did it a couple of weeks ago....Ebay do it this way so the star rating thing is anonymous.

Oh...and YANBU.

I used to charge no more than what the postage stamp cost actually was...so free bags and wrapping...and still got my stars knocked!
