He told me I wasn't middle class shock

I am so hurt and insulted I may have to kill him.

I am not U. He is.

gapants Thu 16-Jun-11 20:05:46

What would provoke such an outburst!?

How very dare he!

THere is only one thing to do, leave the bastard.

AtYourCervix Thu 16-Jun-11 20:06:34

leaving him is not good enough. he is going to have to go under the patio.

GrimmaTheNome Thu 16-Jun-11 20:07:53

Well, that's probably because you have such exquisite taste in dogs that he feels he's your social inferior dahling. (Or have I misinterpreted the thrust of his jibe?)

AtYourCervix Thu 16-Jun-11 20:08:11

we were having a conversation about Toffos. Those revolting flavoured toffee things which I said were a very working class sort of sweet.

ninah Thu 16-Jun-11 20:08:20

patio? no wonder he inbu

ninah Thu 16-Jun-11 20:08:54

nah toffos are for toffs

AtYourCervix Thu 16-Jun-11 20:09:52

sorry. I meant under the veranda. and Toffos are common.

gapants Thu 16-Jun-11 20:11:55

I love toffos, even the weirdy flavoured ones, you would get a mix of mint, banana, um...can't remember what else. I love them, have not seen them in years.

I never knew sweets had a class system. Be honest, spangles, what are they?

AtYourCervix Thu 16-Jun-11 20:13:04

SPangles are a bit common too. Caramac is a nice class of sweet.

Pumpernickel10 Thu 16-Jun-11 20:14:17

Not had a caramac in years, do they still make them?

gapants Thu 16-Jun-11 20:17:21

Oh shit, do you think I might get kicked off mumsnet? ((((frets, wonders how to casually drop in holidays to Italy and France))))

My name is Gapants and I like common sweets! I have no shame.

I bought some Rolos today, 78p they cost me. Ludicrous.

SongBirdsKeepSinging Thu 16-Jun-11 20:22:43

Leave him, and take custody of the goat!

SuePurblybilt Thu 16-Jun-11 20:27:04

toffos are common as shite. You need a parma violet or a ferrero rocher. That's right classy, that is.

emmspemms Thu 16-Jun-11 20:33:37

Ferraro rocher? I'd rather have a crunchy, not some puffed up bit of cheap tat that thinks it's better than we are .

SuePurblybilt Thu 16-Jun-11 20:35:28

That's cos you're not posh like me emms. I am the Ambassador.

AtYourCervix Thu 16-Jun-11 20:36:56

i do like a flake. that's a classy bit of flaky deliciousness.

usualsuspect Thu 16-Jun-11 20:37:16

Curly Wurlys are pure class

onclefestere Thu 16-Jun-11 20:38:09

Caramacs are insane. They are a funny colour. What social class of sweet is the flying saucer - tongue in cheek retro lower middle class? I like flying saucers....

AtYourCervix Thu 16-Jun-11 20:43:55

flying saucers are middle-class-retro-cool-hip.
Rhubarb and custard are sort of old-fashioned-stiff-upper-lip-middle-class

those vile technicolour lumps of chemical shaped like dummies are common.

SuePurblybilt Thu 16-Jun-11 20:45:05

fecking Pedlars prolly sell flying saucers and pink shrimps as 'retro vintage' sweets. Only £49.99 a bag

Ormirian Thu 16-Jun-11 20:45:29

Bless you sad How dreadful.

Find something from Boden and go to bed cuddling it.

AtYourCervix Thu 16-Jun-11 20:47:14

anyway. back to the point. i have known 'D'H for 16 years. We have 2 DDs a couple of dogs and occasionally shag. How could he not know me? Hw could he think this of me?

MaureenMLove Thu 16-Jun-11 20:51:25

Gah! Damn you! I only popped on, for a nose of things and I end up Googling sweets! Look here and judge your class sweets to your hearts content!
