Awwwwww. I didn't get it. I'm not even important enough to get unsolicited shite. Sob.

I haven't got one sad

What have I been doing wrong?

I've been swearing loads (relative to the amount posted) today...

AtYourCervix Wed 15-Jun-11 19:46:52

I thought it would be full of good swearing but nope..

what a disappointment.

solareclipse Wed 15-Jun-11 19:47:12

I really like it.

Anyone who can pull the best bits out of S&B without me having to trawl through all the threads gets a vote of thanks from me.

The stuff I've bought as a result of MNers' recommendations have been the best clothes ever.

And yes, I know that sounds like an ad...

GilbonzoTheSecretPsychoDuck Wed 15-Jun-11 19:47:17

I didn't get one

Punkatheart Wed 15-Jun-11 19:47:27

Mumsnet swears.

That's for sure!

diabolo Wed 15-Jun-11 19:48:24

Me neither. And I pissed off someone amazingly well last week.

Oh well...... [goes back to Things to Do if you have NO FRIENDS magazine]

fearnelinen Wed 15-Jun-11 19:48:56

YANBU, I agree.

There was a thread a while back about what constitutes a mumsy outfit...I think making it the the MUMSNET SWEARS BY standard would do it...

How NOT to get me to purchase a dress...!

Hassled Wed 15-Jun-11 19:51:17

I didn't mind it. MN Spam is Good Spam.

And I liked that dress, except if I were to break with tradition and spend more than £40 on a dress, everyone would look at me and think "Mumsnetter".

solareclipse Wed 15-Jun-11 19:53:23

I'm sure you can opt out if you don't need want it.

Hulababy Wed 15-Jun-11 19:59:37

You can opt out.

GilbonzoTheSecretPsychoDuck Wed 15-Jun-11 20:31:06

It's an interesting idea, but it's coming across way too strongly as an advertorial.

If the products were ones that lots and lots of MNers had recommended (as the result of a survey) then I wouldn't have a problem with MNHQ grabbing whatever advertising money they could from the most popular products in return for telling us all about it.

But to recommend a dress/nail varnish just because 2 or 3 MNers have said it's good (and just because those were the products that offered MNHQ sponsorship/advertising money) is, frankly hmm

solareclipse Wed 15-Jun-11 20:56:09

No, but there is someone stylish at MNHQ judging.

culturemulcher Wed 15-Jun-11 20:59:36

Good point solareclipse smile.

The tone's just wrong it's all a bit or whatever that Boots website is/was.

swanker Wed 15-Jun-11 22:42:44

I would like to know whether MN receives any advertising revenue from this email? Otherwise why are they doing it? confused

ZXEightyMum Wed 15-Jun-11 22:43:48

I didn't get it either but then I swear automatically as soon as I wake up in the morning so probably don't need it.

ChaoticAngelofLitha Wed 15-Jun-11 22:45:38

You can opt out if you don't want to receive it. Personally I just delete if I don't want to read it, it takes about a second to do so.

needanewname Wed 15-Jun-11 22:49:33

If you don;t like it unsubscribe. No ones making you buy the stuff.

Tigerbomb Wed 15-Jun-11 22:51:23

I thought it was an email about a thread........ the sweary macswear one

solareclipse Wed 15-Jun-11 23:57:27

It made me spend £100 this evening, on stuff previously recommended on S&B threads. Sigh.

MumblingRagDoll Thu 16-Jun-11 00:24:07

YANBU it go me all riled for some reason. Too advertisey. I know I can opt out but meh....I trusted MN not to send me crap. I like getting the round-up and things like that...but some promo for Jigsaw? Keep it.
