so I arranged an appointment 2 weeks ago to get a coil in at 8.30 this morning

So I arrive 5 mins early and there are2 other women waiting about 8.35 one woman gets called in and then 5 mins later the other by the doc and nurse I was due to see so I waited a further 15 mins and then went up to the desk and enquirer what was happening given it was 8.55 and my appointment was 8.30

Oh they'll be calling you through in the next few mins ( the other women went even out yet)

I explained I only had a babysitter til 9.15 and I was supposed to be somewhere else at 9.30 anyway and they said oh but it'll take at least 20 mins to put in meaning I wouldnt leave till after 9.30 at the earliest

I said I couldn't wait that long and left

I dont understand how there were 3 peole booked for the 8.30 appoointment when that's the earliest appointment of the day so it's not like they were even just running late - they had double booked or something!

They will only give you a very limited number of appointments for the coil fitting and I don't have many babysitter options not to mention ds is 12 weeks and bf exclusivly !

Aibu to be raging

Could you not have taken the baby with you? Its a known fact that appointments rarely run on time, staff could be off sick... you can never guarantee to be in and out on time.

No I was already told I was not allowed to take the baby

It would of made life simpler if I could as I could have had it done when ds was in nursery

I relies people can be off but 40 mins for an appointment when both people were clearly there?

It is poor but do think you were cutting it a bit fine anyway.
