I unfortunately got talking to someone at school today, and I mentioned that fact that the demise of manners on the road saddens me (I excell at smalltalk Wink), and she went off on a tangent that she only lets people with "naice" cars out into traffic.

Quite a productive day.

Actually I have noticed its most often naice cars that park in disabled parking illigialy, because they cant park don't want their massive Merc to get bumped. So guess i do judge cars!

I let out all cars except massive four wheel drives, I'm afraid because I always get shoved into the hedge when they hammer round our country lanes in the middle of the road.

Just my pathetic little way of getting revenge.

yes, but 4x4s deserve to be slagged off.

I loved taking the wind out of people's sails, yes we do drive a 4x4...cue judgy face...because we can put DH's disability scooter in the back...

Cue...Blush and making them feel awwwful about being so judgy...

Oh I love judging cars and their drivers. I particularly detest Audi TTs and those fuck off black Range Rovers, the new ones that are the size of a transit van. Tossers.

Don't forget that some people judge you for driving a car full stop

I only judge people with "naice" cars... If they're able to afford a lovely new expensive one and they choose a crap one or, worse, if they're an ugly old man and choose a lovely sports car then they deserve to be judged, IMO. Grin

The only car owners I judge are people who drive Mitsubishi Pajeros. Pajero being Spanish for wanker. Always makes me giggle when I see one.

really microsert? and why is that?

Report

Why not?

It's something that you have chosen just as much as your clothes or your hairstyle or the book you are reading on the train.

Are you going to say I can't judge people by those things now?

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 14/06/2011 21:49

I only let nice fit looking men out into traffic - doesn't matter what they are driving!

Report
WowOoo · 14/06/2011 21:51

Chirpchirp I judge the Pajeros too. I feel so childish but i have to laugh.

So, you shouldn't, but you do and it's fun if you're in a traffic jam and have nothing decent to listen to because humpty fecking dumpty is on for the 12th time.

I have a tendency to only let cars out if I like them Blush. Then I have a panic and think "what if that big exec car driver is actually trying to get home as his wife is in labour ( or other heart-rending situation)."

This is awful for me as I'm very un-judgy.

you canjudge what salary might have from the car...but dont go beyond that...dont judge their dick size

I do the same as Mumblechum. If you're in a posh car you won't get let out by me, and I flatly refuse to budge over for 4x4s - if you're driving an all-terrain car you should be able to handle a bit of hedge and verge/ditch if the road's narrow.

Mercedes - as a point of interest, do you use a 4x4 due to the extra weight of the scooter or for space issues? Not pointing fingers (unless it's dead shiny and never goes off road, in which case I'm pointing for Britain!), just wondered as my ancient Galaxy is a 2 wheel drive and regularly fits VERY heavy stuff in it (gets used as a van quite often).

I don't consider 4x4s as posh, quite the reverse. Farking hideous.

DS drives a very nice car and everyone lets him out. I think it's because he looks very zen and kindly.

4x4s are fine in the country where they are needed, but i've never understood why all the parents at the school next to our house in central London need to drive them to pick up their kids.

I think they're too high in traffic and ideally suited for running down child pedestrians. Most of the people who drive them in central London don't seem to have much idea of how to handle them, and they're too big to park sensibly on the tiny streets near us.

Also, i think tossers buy them in the mistaken belief they're a safer vehicle. I suppose they are, if you don't care about anyone else on the road.

Are those enough reasons?

I would also add "and some cow driving one backed into my car right in front of me and my kids and then drove off up the road without a backward glance as if nothing had happened and parked on the other side and pretended she hadn't done it". I have her registration, but that woman seriously cannot drive - probably not even a mini.

I let out cars that are the same as mine except it takes me months after changing a car to remember which car I'm driving! I also let their family out as well. So I used to have a Focus so would let out Ka (what's the plural of that??), Fiestas, Mondeos etc. :)

Agree about town dwelling 4x4s. I was nearly hit by one of the aforementioned tosspot-containing Range Rovers this evening. He was driving it like a formula one car and darted in front of me without indicating, safe in the knowledge that it would do fuck all damage to him but crush my bonnet if I went into him. Fuckwit.
