Dh thinks they are, they are getting the benefit of the doubt from me atm but i'm getting a bit worried my order won't arrive so thought I'd see what the mn verdict is and AIBU is the best place to find out Grin

So the story.... I am ordering raffle tickets and the timings are as follows;

19/5 place order
20/5 receive proof
21/5 send amendment
23/5 receive 2nd proof and told order off to production
31/5 I email to see where order is
01/6 told order being finished off & should be sent that week
07/6 I chase order again, told it was being picked that night
09/6 I chase again and am then told it missed being sent the day before and it has now gone.
14/6 I chase again as no tickets and am finally called to be told the parcel has gone missing at the delivery company and they are trying to find it. she says she will be in contact first thing tomorrow.

Now, I need these tickets last week IYSWIM, the raffle date is 2nd July and we are fast running out of time to sell them. DH says I should order elsewhere but I'm not sure I'll find anywhere who can send that quickly, have had a quick look on the internet.

so do you think I'm being naive thinking they will turn up or is dh right and they haven't printed/sent them at all?

I haven't paid yet, they send an invoice with the tickets.

poop forgot the website's stated timings. 24 hours from order to send a proof, they took 31 hours.

7-10 working days for delivery from order date, if I take it from the 2nd proof as the amendment was due to something I ommitted today is the 14th working day since the order.

ugh - I remember our junior school using a "super cheap" company one year to print their tickets and they were given the right royal runabout - the infant school committee (which I was on) used the same printer up the road we'd always used (more expensive but reliable). The printer the juniors used were awful, eventually the printers stopped answering the phone! I think they finally got the tickets about a week before the event, which really isn't enough time to get them out and back again.

Our little local printer would take about 2 weeks from start to finish. I am afraid that they are indeed having you on and it's possible that they've not even been sent (or printed!). Perhaps ask for the courier name and chase it yourself?

hmm, they were one of the cheaper ones but not the cheapest. Trouble is we're now under 3 weeks from the event so I don't see how we can start a fresh unless we pay ££££££ to someone Sad

I know :( I'm so sorry you're going through this - having been on the PA for many years I know what it's like to feel as if you're letting people down. I'd definitely push for the delivery company details - see what happens

I had a similar run around with my wedding invitations last year. I did get them eventually though, and a partial refund for all the hassle.

Ask them for a tracking number for the parcel.

I'm 100% not paying the whole invoice if they do arrive.

Having a meeting tonight so the committee can tell me what to do, I just feel like i'm letting everyone down as I choose the website.

Thanks for the replies

If you haven't paid them anything yet, why would they muck you about? Surely it's a waste of their time too? Your order probably got 'lost' in the in-tray so was sent a bit later than they said, and it will turn up. Totally understand how it's cutting it a bit fine now though!

see that's what I thought Iwanttoseethezoo, I haven't given them any money so why would they mess me about? I have tried to remain polite, have even written emails and deleted them again Grin so as not to make them turn round and say bugger off!!

I will see what the woman says if she rings tomorrow.

So annoying!

iwanttoseethezoo In my experience what generally happens with these printers they are cheap and end up getting more orders than they can handle. Especially at this time of year, lots of people having fairs etc. Usually he who shouts loudest gets their order but that's not a great way to go about things. I've been a print buyer for many years and some printers will just lie I'm afraid. I wish they'd tell the truth because then the buyer has a chance to get something sorted.

thanks hellospoon, they are the pre-printed type as you can't pre-sell the type you buy in the shops Sad

A little update, incase anyone cares Grin

I chased in vain and finally on tuesday decided to re-order elsewhere and cancel the original order, that they were still instisting had gone out and was lost at the couriers.

Well The 2nd order arrived this morning, less than 48hrs after ordering. FAB!

The original order turned up yesterday. They had put our order in with another order ans a random man in Wales called to say he had our tickets! (we're in Kent) so they were telling the truth and the reason there was no traccking number was because they had 1 parcel instead of 2 so there wasn't one!!

madness

I have someone I can recommend now though, 5000 raffle tickets printed & delivered at no extra cost in under 48hrs perfect!
