Agreed. If I ever wear a pink cowboy hat & feather boa - shoot me.

I went to a 'here come the girls' thing with my GBF, I wanted to murder fucking Lulu.

why should charity be split on gender based lines?
surely negates whole principle of charity

YANBU, get a steady stream of these invites on fb, pamper evenings, some chef thing where they sell you overpriced and boring homewear, bodyshop, oh yes come to my house and bring your purse mind, gah.

FriedaRoam Race for Life makes a hell of a lot of money to pay for very expensive research into cancer. I don't see what that has to do with the 'whole principle of charity'. Charities invest in fundraising so that they can pay for the services they provide and I hate to think what the country would be like if they didn't. One of the reasons Race for Life is so successful may be that some women feel more comfortable taking part in a women-only event. Run 10K is a very similar event and anyone can take part in that.

YABU to mention the 'race for life' things, but YADNBU about the other shite

i cannot think of anything much worse than a hen night, dressed as a 'pink lady' watching a stripper while doing shots of amaretto in the name of 'entertainment'

would rather poke my own eyes out with a cocktail stick

I don't get why race for life isn't a women's cancer thing yet it's only for women. It's successful so 'yay hun' for that.
