that I havent put on a wee bit of weight lately!

I love my DH but sometimes he can be too honest with his opinion. Ive put on about 9 pounds since xmas through eating badly while working away and just not exercising.

I feel bad about it particularly as we are heading off on a sun holiday in a forthinghts time and dont need him pointing out that Im a bit 'softer' round the middle!

Could I loose half a stone in 2 weeks if I ate nothing but fruit Hmm

Probably not, but a sensible diet and some sit-ups/jogging would probably tone you up though.

Good luck, I fucking hate exercise Blush

Only 9lbs? I'm surprised it shows TBH.

If you don't want him to be honest, tell him Grin

But then you'll not be able to trust him to tell you the truth, bit like MN really.

I'd rather exercise than not eat butter/mayo/cheesy doritos worra, and that's the truth.

Agent I assume your being sarcastic and trying to point out that actually 9 lbs is a lot!

I know its alot and Ive been ignoring it latley and Im now panicking before my holiday.

I love that he's honest but wish he HONESTLY didnt care/notice that Id put weight on lol

FWIW I didn't think Agent was being sarcastic at all?

Obviously it depends on your body, but 9lbs wouldn't show on everyone.

Some people put weight on evenly and some it goes straight to the stomach and hips. If it's even, it's not always noticable.

ZXEightyMum · 11/06/2011 22:14

9lbs is nothing. If you're a reasonably average weight then it is negligible, a bit over half a stone. If you are very overweight surely it wouldn't even be noticed.

You could lose x stone of utter nobber in a few minutes and it might be healthier for you!

kidsscareme · 11/06/2011 22:20

Thanks worral, I just assumed cause I feel the weight on then everyone would notice it.

Im not overweight, just average for my height and wear a size 12. The extra 9 lb is niggling me just and I know for my own confidence Im better without it as it all seems to go to my stomach

ZX you last sentence has gone over my head - no idea what you mean!

Well they might do...I can't answer that. But the most important thing here is that you lose it for yourself if that's what you want to do.

If you think you'll be happier and enjoy your holiday more, then get jogging Grin

ok jogging it is. Tomorrow of course Grin

I will start tomorrow and jog for me and then shake my skinny ass in his face when we are on holiday Wink

I bloody wasn't being sarky!

9lbs?? I'd be right fucked off if DH said anything about my weight, even if I put on stones, especially over six months.

The only legit reasons to me would be that he'd be worried for my health if I put on a lot, or wondered if something was stressing me out and I was comfort eating (which I don't do).

Tell him to go fuck himself

'You could lose x stone of utter nobber in a few minutes and it might be healthier for you!'

ZX means by getting rid of your DH Grin

I dunno, I think they just get a bit confused about the whole honesty thing.

Today, as I was leaving the house in a rush, DD emptied a bottle of water over my crotch. I said to DH "it doesn't look as tho I've pissed myself, does it?". I knew it did, but I didn't have time to change. And then I got irritated with him when he said it did. I just wanted to be convinced otherwise.

kidsscareme · 11/06/2011 22:37

Sorry agent I picked you up wrong

To be fair, I was whinging about it and looking for reassurance that I look ok and instead got 'yeah you can notice you've put weight on' followed by 'when are we going for a cycle?'

As my mum always says - dont ask the question of you know you wont like the answer!

ZX I would get rid of him but I hate being on holiday alone Grin

Why not just eat a bit less and move a bit more?

This stuff ain't rocket science. And it's only 9lbs.

Awww cut him some slack. A lot of men are just brutally honest with their observations..but they forget to add how much they don't really care about it.

I'll offer to take his place on hols as long as there's muchos drinking and eating. But I draw the line at bike riding! Grin

I was paraphrasing an old joke OP about how to get rid of unsightly fat. Good on you for your reply though Grin

The pounds are just extra weight in numbers. If you were as toned as you could possibly be you would lose inches all over but weigh much more because muscle is heavier than fat. If it really is all on your stomach then a good exercise programme focusing on that area would be better than just eating fruit. Please tell me you aren't really considering that.

An easy assumption to make on AIBU kidsscare Grin

I was always amazed DH found me attractive when I was pregnant and the size of a three story house.

I'm an OK weight for my height when I'm not pregnant, but if he picked up on any changes in my body that you get when you've had a DC, I'd feel really insecure.

Of course 9lb will show thats nine bags of sugar!

Ive lost 2.5 stone, 7lb to go and its all on my stomach.

kidsscareme · 11/06/2011 22:49

ZX No, couldnt just eat fruit as I would crumble by 2pm and eat any small child bit of food that came across my path.

I just needed help getting perspective and I think I could loose half a stone by eating healthy and exercising from now until the holiday.

Project slim starts tonight tomorrow

9 kg is 9 nine bags of sugar fabby, a bag of sugar is 2.2 lbs.

Well done on the 2.5 stones, I lost a bit more than that after DD2 and have got about 7-10lbs to go, how the fuck do you get rid of that last bit??

It's been hanging around for ages and won't piss off.
