Maybe JK can be used to ajudicate on how much benefit any individual can be entitled to claim. A moral fibre test with forciable sterilisation for the 'waste of space' and bonuses for the good un's. Seriously, though, even though I do NOT believe stupidity is inherited, I think there should be measures taken to ENCOURAGE (not force) people who lack the income, mental capacity, or behavioural patterns suitable for bringing up children to perhaps rethink their decision. Present an appealing alternative, though, and help these people out rather than vilifying them outright.

The problem lies in defining these parameters, though, which could get very politically messy indeed.

JK is an 'entertainment' bear baiting stupid and vulerable people for the baying mob - the programme researchers have spent hours winding everyone up before they go on and making sure they look as bad as possible. But of course they are all scum and deserve to be made to look bad on tv, to make everyone feel comfortable in their prejudices and self satisfied. Lovely.

PS - OP may I suggest you don't waste your time watching the programme? I doubt the people are even genuine sometimes; quite often they seem to be grinning and are probably just making half of it up to get a day's expenses

I don't think that the "guests" on Jeremy Kyle are "scum"

I think that the producers of the show and those who watch it with glee so that they can feel better about themselves, so that they can feel better than those on the show, they are scum.

The guests on that show have been failed by society. To sit in judgment of their lives may make you feel better but quite what it does to treat the problem is beyond me.
