I would kill him.

I would.

I am not a violent person. I have never hit someone in my entire life. But, by Christ.... I believe that someone who is capable of rape. Rape of an innocent, indefensible small child.... I'm currently cuddling my nearly 2YO to sleep right now and I swear to god, I would kill anyone who touched her.

He doesn't deserve to have his 'human rights' considered. He hasn't acted like a human being.

Well, AIBU?

Because I will go to my grave thinking that I am not.

He admitted raping a toddler - plus 45 (yes 45) other offences :-(

He gets to me because he is 20 and expects to be 'rehabilitated'. He doesn't deserve that. Every single penny of resources should go into helping his victims.

It's the fact that he 'expects' help and support. He 'expects' the UK judicial system to provide help, support and safety to him.

Lower than low.

I want everyone to know his name.

I want everyone to know what he did.

I want everyone to know what he expects, that he expects 'his' rights to be honoured at all times.

He's no different to the rest of the abusers OP.

Why shout his name out,we all read the papers and watch the news.

I expect criminals to be rehabiliated, isn't that part of our justice system? I do not excuse/condone his actions no any other abuser, but I always thought we should try to rehabiliate people, as well as punishing them.

If he isn't rehabilitated, helped to control his impulses, then how will he not commit these crimes again?

Surely we should be doing all we can to prevent anyone else being damaged by him?

scoutingthomas · 07/06/2011 13:19

I suppose it just because I am close to this case.

But, honestly (and this is not my usual view), I would make sure he didn't damage anyone else by removing him and his genetial from this planet.

I know you are all right. I suppose why this is AIBU, but when it comes close to being your child, feelings run more strongly.

I have to say I agree with you on this. How can he be rehabilitated and how could he ever be trusted to live in our society in the future? I understand the judge has said that he will get an indeterminate sentence. God help him in prison, that's all I can say.

This is a fairly local case to me and I have to admit it made me shudder when I heard the breaking news on the local radio station, especially as we have a 7 month old dd. I honestly think my dh (who is very mild mannered and not remotely aggressive) would kill anyone who touched our child, and I doubt he's on his own with those feelings.

I just read this thread and looked at the news. Terrible. Terrible. I then looked up the Ofsted report on the nursery. It was completed last November and gives an overall "good". Am now terrified of sending DD to nursery.

GeekCool · 07/06/2011 14:03

Stangirl you can't allow yourself to be terrified, I'm not sure what else Ofsted could do. CRB checks and the like only work if someone has been caught previously.

i really hope he does not get protected in prison, as we all know what they will do to him....PLEASE

I genuinely believe that some offenses are so terrible as to be not worthwhile rehabilitating the criminal involved. or possible.

This is one of them.

Such a sustained, hidden web of abuse, how the fuck are you meant to rehabilitate that?

He's an animal. I resent a single penny of my tax money being spent to provide warmth or food for him.

I certainly don't think he deserves any attempt at counselling or whatever he'll likely claim motivates him to ruin the lives of innocent children.

He is a pedophile and you cannot change a persons sexual orientation so he is always going to be a danger to our children.
He cannot be rehabilitated so he needs locking away for the rest of his natural life.

i cant believe you found that, but yes, hoping it can be done with now,in my head. i left the police for e over this as we knew his previous offences,he was bailed to his mothers address and we couldnt touch him/watch him/.....had to leave him to kill. shocking

cantpel,you are right,they cant be rehabilitated,no way

Its horrific to think that anyone could do something like that to young vunerable people especially when you are a parent yourself. YANBU to feel like you do.

However sex offending is an addiction and will always be his weakness however much he thinks he is rehabilitated. Something screwed him up earlier in his life to make him like that, but that is not excusing him. But it shows that he will not likely to ever be 'normal' again as the damage is probably too great and too deep. Who knows how genuine his wish for rehabiliation really is. The offending is too recent and he is obviously trying to minimise it all, so it does seem to me that he is just saying this for attention and to try to justify his behaviour to himself. It doesn't mean that he will get rehabilitation. It will be categorised as an offence of the most serious order and will be treated as such (we hope!)

It does make your blood run cold to think about it, but there are loads of decent people out there too, you have to think of that. I guess.

All peadophiles should be locked up permanently in a secure facility and used as lab rats intstead of innocent animals. They cannot be cured of peadophilia, there is something extremely wrong with their sick minds and they should be removed from society permanently.

Should we kill other people who are mentally ill too?
