Logged into Facebook this morning and all I saw on status updates was everything about britains got talent.
Who really gives a toss? I for one don't.
From a very grumpy youngish woman :)

I only watched half the results show cos I was waiting for something else to come on. That's all I've watched of bgt... I find it boring, mostly although the singing kid was quite good

juneybean · 05/06/2011 12:01

I didn't watch either, but I can get into X factor so I can't really complain haha

You're neither being reasonable or unreasonable. It's just a TV show. If you don't like it, you don't have to Smile

You are not alone. I couldn't give a flying fuck about BGT, X Factor, Think you can dance?, The Apprentice etc. It's all anyone at work talks about and I'm sorry to be a snob, but I find it shallow and dim-witted.

You might find it 'shallow and dim-witted' LM - that doesn't mean it is! Who are you to pontificate on what people should and should not enjoy/comment upon on TV? I didn't watch BGT - no reason, just didn't. I love the X Factor, can't be arsed with The Apprentice etc etc - but I don't think it's on to belittle other people for their televisual pleasures!!!

Report
LemoryMane · 05/06/2011 12:12

I havent 'pontificated on what people should or shouldnt watch', I've just said I think these talent shows and reality shows are a pile of absolute shite and I personally wouldn't want to rot my brain watching the same old crappy format re-hashed year in year out.

THESE PROGRAMMES ARE TOSS (in my opinion).

If you don't agree, feel free to watch them to your heart's content. They are shit, though.

Im with Worral, its only a TV show at the end of the day and we all have different interests and programmes we enjoy - dont like - dont watch!

I find it tiresome when people judge others based on the TV programmes people enjoy, as if anyone that watches these type of shows is somehow inferior and should watch intellectual docs all the time.

YANBU Grin It might, however, be unreasonable to have so many friends who are obsessed with it!

Report
shirleyshortcut · 05/06/2011 12:14

never watched it

i cba with the fake rows, fake sackings, fake ratings etc etc to generate publicity for it

I find it tiresome when people can't take their favourite programmes being criticised. Bloody childish! I watch Waterloo Road. My DH thinks it is a pile of juvenile wank. I don't take it personally.

I'm with Lemory on this, they are utter claptrap but this is my opinion. It was the same with Eurovision. I was utterly gobsmacked that people watched this crap. I'm so glad I've the option to turn over :)

I agree Shirley it's way too fake

Lemon - of course I can take the shows I enjoy being criticised, because unlike some people I can actually see that as individuals we all enjoy different things without being judgemental thats all, unlike all this "god why do people watch this crap" type of astonishment Grin

Lol see that's what I love about diverse TV.

Lemory the irony of you saying 'I'm sorry to be a snob' because you don't like BGT...and then going on to say you watch Waterloo road, is...well it's ironic really Grin

Everyone here will have programmes they like or dislike. It doesn't make them snobby...it doesn't make those who like them any less intelligent.

It's just TV!

But I cant see why people like tosh like BGT. I sort of understand why kids might like it, but I honestly dont understand why grown adults would want to send their weekends watching such obviously staged banality. Why should I pretend otherwise? Do I have to pretend to see the attraction?

Actually, God, I do pretend other wise, actually, as I have to give polite smiles and nods on a daily basis when people are boring on about yet another shite teenage street dance crew at work ...Grin

Look, different strokes etc but that doesn't mean I can't say in all honesty on an anonymous forum that these programmes are, in my opinion, wank.

You definitely need different FB friends - none of mine have mentioned it! Grin

Report
LemoryMane · 05/06/2011 12:23

But unlike some of the snivellers on this thread, worrall, I don't take it personally Grin

Report
worraliberty · 05/06/2011 12:24

But that's my point. You like your own portion of wank so it's all good!

And yes I do realise how wrong that sounds Blush

Report
cybbo · 05/06/2011 12:25

I'm congratulating myself on not watching not one single second of it

Report
LemoryMane · 05/06/2011 12:27

lol!

But my portion of wank is not a constant source of banal conversation. It is private wank Grin.

TidyDancer · 05/06/2011 12:33

If you don't like it don't watch it. Some people like it, so therefore watch it. Hide the status updates you don't like, then there's no problem.

Report
Yukana · 05/06/2011 12:39

I'm sitting with cybbo and a Brew on this one. Grin
