Yes she should, but then she was no doubt sucking up to Cowell to secure her place on the panel next year. Cowell wanted Ronan to win.

As we know, Cowell dispenses with people left, right and centre. Odious little man that he is.

Katiekitty that is very true.

The thing about Simon Cowell is - he's enormously rich because he leaves sentiment at home when doing business. I assume, kitty person, that you are able to pronounce him 'odious' because you've met him on several occasions and got to know him? I mean, you wouldn't just dismiss someone like that if you really had no idea what you were talking about would you?

Yes, so you are not BU. Regardless of her opinion it sounded like sour grapes that her favourite hadnt won.

I didn't really care who won (although I did like Jai but I also liked the Romanian dancer, especially as he couldn't put the fire out) but I do think it was rather childish of her to say it.

BorninAfrica If one single person can tell me otherwise that SC is a nice person, then I stand by my comment that he is odious.

All the things I have heard about him point to him being thoroughly unpleasant.

Apologies if I am insulting a personal friend of yours, how do you know him?

I wonder is she's a MNetter?

She also had the cheek to go out of her way to tell him after he sang that he was the "dark horse" of the competition and then when he did win have a little sulk!

I really thought she was quite cutting, I thought she should have let him have his moment too. She should have kept her comments to herself, a congratulations to the winner would have been nicer

yanbu, she was quite rude and childish. The small boy himself was incredibly gracious and well mannered.
I have no idea why AH is qualified to waybe a judge any

BooyHoo · 04/06/2011 23:31

what did she say?

Report
redflagsahoy · 04/06/2011 23:33

she felt that the runner-up should have won. Yes the little boy was so gracious, she should take notice and brush up her manners.

Report
Chummybud1 · 05/06/2011 08:42

Yeah she should have kept her opinion to herself.

at least its over and we dont have to see her ugly plastic faced pumped up lips mutton look on tv for a while

Report
tak1ngchances · 05/06/2011 08:55

I thought she should have covered up her fanny quite frankly. That dress was barely skimming her dignity
disclaimer: I like Amanda Holden, I love that she has come back after all she's been through

YANBU - it was really unprofessional.

Oh I missed what she said.

I was very moved though when Jai hugged Ronan - he really seemed to mean every bit of affection he gave that boy.

Lets face it Ronans marketable - he'll have a career. He is very good too.

Hmmm Ronan looks too suspiciously much like Justin Bieber for my liking... he's got a great voice though, no doubt about that, but shudder so long as he doesn't start giving his opinions on anything.

Re Amanda Holden; she's entitled to her opinion I suppose.

I felt the same, I really like AH but she should have let the winner have his moment.

Just shows that the whole "the public always knows best" or whatever Simon keeps spouting, is not really believed. They have their favourites and they don't care what the public thinks, if we dont get it "right" they will have a giant sulk.

It seemed a rather unprofessional thing to say, when the competition is over and the time for 'honest comments' is in the past. Perhaps she just blurted it out in her shock - or wanted to make Ronan feel better (though he took it extremely well for a 12-year old who had probably been led to believe he was likely to win) - but it was ungracious to the winner, who after all did get the majority vote from the public, which is what it's all supposed to be about.

Hopefully Jai didn't let it spoil his moment - I doubt he did - and I hope Ronan can continue to be the nice little boy he seems to be, with the inevitable fame that's coming his way.

Oh I never even noticed the dress! I have never been a big fan of AH but did think she was very courageous after what she went through but she really did herself no favours with her petulant remarks. (QLB I agree. My remote nearly went through the TV when SC saved Katie on x-factor!)

katiekitty - I have it on good authority from friends who he has worked with that SC is one of the most genuinely good-hearted and fair execs in the entertainment industry. Just sayin'.
