My vacuum cleaner doesn't suck up dirt! envy envy envy

Well thats kind of what I was getting at. Surely the suction power should be greater than it is?

it's designed to suck up dirt and dust. That's what it's for. Why do you expect it to do something else?

A penny won't pass through the hose. Believe me, me and my pliars know.

Really Im not planning on sucking pennies, just an illustration. Ok what about lego? smile I suspect my dyson is knackered.

Opalinski I thought mine was knacked too, but I took it to bits as per the illustration in the Instructions, peered through its various orifices, took my pliars to the obstructions (a penny, and enough human hair to make a small but unsatisfactory wig) and it's fine now.

Probably that would be better than attempting to vacuum up coins of the realm and plastic artefacts to test your machine's fuckedness.

Oh I dont mind sucking the lego up, pennies I stash

Have you washed your filter recently ?

Think you have to do it every six months or so (depending on how much you hoover) and discovering that improved my dyson's suckyness no end.

opalinski Sat 04-Jun-11 14:31:06

fastweb thanks! No, I havent. I will try that (and the taking it apart thing).

LineRunner Sat 04-Jun-11 14:33:49

When you wash the filter (in cold water) you should leave it to dry for 24 hours.

I can't believe I know this stuff.

I hope someone from Dyson is reading this (hello, Sir James!) and offers us a bit of bonus suction.

confuseddotcodotuk Sat 04-Jun-11 14:37:15

YANBU. My Mum keeps asking me to hoover for her. I have. Every morning this week. hmm

The only type of hoover I've had that works after lots of use is a Henry or Hetty. Numatic make fantastic hoovers!

Though I'd expect a Dyson to last!

I'll go dig out the video instructions for you, I spent ages trying to find it based on the manual alone.

fastweb Sat 04-Jun-11 14:39:24
