I know I am BU and there are much more important things in life but I'm suffering from serious phone envy.

DH has got an all singing and dancing android (which he never shuts up about) and ALL my friends said in whiny Veruca Salt voice seem to have iphones or similar.

My contract isn't up until November so I will just have to wait patiently and not arrange an unfortunate toilet bowl accident for crappy Nokia

I don't want to upgrade either as I want the option to change contract and provider.

Would buy one off ebay in the meantime but they all seem to be at least £200!!!

What phones do you all have and are they fabulous?

fivegomad - I'm in the dark ages when it comes to phones - what do you love about yours? I'm looking at the HTC Wildfire - but am not exactly sure what they can actually do or how they work Blush

I have been coveting the HTC Desire HD. Have visions of lying in bed like a lazy cow browsing MN.

Well my DD loves all the games, so when I can get it off her, I can get emails, which is useful as we run a B&B, news, kindle, games, FB, MN, sat nav.

Envy is such an ugly emotion ;-)

I'm the same. Coveting iphone but contract not up til Sept. Mind you I'm not paying £200 odd for one, they'll go down a lot once iphone 5 is out.

Just bought an Orange San Francisco it's only £99 on PAYG and once you've taken the Orange branding off it's easily comparable to the more expensive Android phones.
I had to add £20 credit when I bought it and you get £30 credit for moving your number from your old mobile but once this is used up I'm unlocking the phone and moving to GiffGaff. They give unlimited text and truely unlimited internet plus 250 minutes for £10/month.

Last year I waited until the end of my contract after being with orange for about ten years and they refused to match the other deals out there on an iphone - they got nowhere close and weren't interested in keeping me as a customer

So I switched to 3 and got what I wanted - and I shouldn't have bothered waiting til the end of the contract with orange in hope that they would give me a deal.

I'm with you all the way. I have an iphone, but I've wanted iphone4 for ages. I can't upgrade until October, but at least hopefully iphone 5 will be out by then.

I have the Orange San Francisco for £99 too and I got it because I wanted an Android phone but couldn't wait 8 months for my upgrade Grin. It's not as powerful as the more expensive phones and the camera is rubbish, but I find it so useful that it's been worth paying out before I upgrade. I use it constantly - reading e-books, email, taking notes, calendar, ovulation tracking, fitness apps, money tracking.

Intereseting to see what people have, not as many iphones as I thought.

3 seem to have good iphone deals although whilst I was perusing phone websites being productive this morning I did notice the Samsung Galaxy S II that seems to have just come out. Looks very nice.

I think iphones they are a complete waste of money. I can browse with my virgin blackberry for a tenner a month with unlimited internet and more calls and texts than I can use.

Is it the iphones that you cant swap sim cards on - how do you pass them along to other people when you have finished etc?

I could have got an iphone, but was put off by the number of people bemoaning them on a daily basis, esp on fb, saying they have crashed, gone for repair, developed a fault...

I'm ready to upgrade now Grin and am seriously thinking of the HTC Desire HD.

I've been happy with my iPhone up to now but have to wait until next month for an upgrade. For sure I don't intend to part with the £300 necessary to get an iPhone 4 since the iPhone 5 is allegedly just round the corner.

But despite being a user of all things Apple (iMac, iPad etc.,), I'm increasingly pissed off with stuff coming with bugs that Apple seem disinterested in fixing - the iTunes burner software failure for example. So I'm seriously considering a Blackberry and moving away from Orange who still seem determined to sell my details to third party retailers who pester you non-stop to try and nick your contract! DP recently got a new Blackberry and it's so much better than the earlier models so I'm getting tempted...

I had similar problems with Orange for years (and particularly annoying as I was working abroad at the time so these feckers kept calling me on my roaming bill). Wouldn't go back to Orange, ever.

I have just got myself a Desire Z having had a Samsung i600 for years, I love the fact I can use the touch screen and still have a proper qwerty keyboard if I want.

iphones have never appealed to me but then I've never found Apple very intuitive, I hate using DH's mac.
