Has just come thru my letterbox (I was in, whichever make-work delivered it didn't bother to knock the door) along with a note saying they had interviewd everyone in our postcode except us, so please fill in this same thing all over again... (we did complete and fill in the first one, there is no suggestion it was missing)
AIBU to just bin it?
(We recently had a chap come round asking us to answer a few quaestions for accuracy, I asked if it was optional,as I was busy, he said yes it was so I declined.
What is this all about? Is the country so awash with o ney that they can employ epopel to do the job twice?

Are you sure it's legit? I'm struggling to think how census info would come in handy to a fraudster, but it probably would.

No, don't fill it in, I don't think it sounds legit.

Whats the address on the envelope?

We had a follow up visit today from a couple of women who were checking the answers. They said they had a list of those in our postcode who had promptly sent back the census and they were targetting those people. I guess the thinking behind that is they would be more open to the follow up interview. We didnt have to fill any forms in though.

It is legit. 1 percent of postcodes get a follow up visit 6 weeks after the main census to give an error figure for the main census.

From my experience you home will have been visited 10-15 times at varying times of day and days of the week, over the last 4 weeks. You should also have received a census coverage survey leaflet which explained this about 4 weeks ago. If you phone your local police they will know about it or you can phone 0300 0201 105 or look at this website.

I don't know what Kazam's visit was about though, and if they said that and were from the coverage survey they are not saying what they should be, and personally I would complain.

It is very helpful if people who are asked do the survey as it helps persuade politician of the accuracy of the census and so provide an accurate level of local funding.

interesting - on the website it does not say anything about having to re-write and re-post the whole thing.

The questionnaire you have is the one they give when the interviewers have tried to visit you on numerous occasions but haven't been able to start a questionnaire. It actually looks longer than the doorstep one.

To be honest the doorstep interviewers didn't know this is what people who refused to do the questionnaire or were never in would get, until this week.
