AIBU?

To want to cry? (Sympathy or "pull yourself together" needed...)

I feel like complete and utter hell. I've had an allergic reaction to something, and look like hell. I'm not sure if it's hayfever, or something else. But right now, I have the 'orrible puffy eyes, my eczema has flared back up, and my nose is like a damn tap.

While I was running DS's bath, he came running through and asked me to clean his foot. Turns out he'd shat on my jeans, which he'd knocked off the ironing pile. And trod in it.

Add to that, his useless sperm donor father hasn't phoned ONCE, or texted, or whatever since DS and I returned from visiting his parents at the beginning of the month. Not heard a word from any of them. Is that really how fucking little they care about DS? I haven't had credit to call them, or text them. At all. Would it hurt them to put the effort in and make a phone call?

I've also found out I've failed the first year of Uni. I can retake the failed modules, but I feel utterly shit to have screwed this up. AIBU to just want to curl up and cry?

YANBU, have a cry, let it all out, make a cuppa and then pull yourself together and start again.

How old is your DS and why is he shitting on your jeans?

He's 3, and fuck knows... It's the pooing on the potty he seems to struggle with... No matter how much I try to reinforce it.

Get DS to bed, then have a little cry and a big dollop of whatever your favourite thing to do is - long hot bath, weepy movie, phone call to someone you don't often get to talk to...

Have a little cry.
YANBU.
Tomorrow is another day and you will have renewed perspective.
FWIW my boy is 3.5 and until very recently, he couldn't shit anywhere except a nappy (although in the last month he has overcome this!).

Nice cup of tea, biscuit, hot bath and bed is the remedy methinks.

DS is in bed... I'd normally have some daft film on, but eyes are too puffy to do that. (I have the brightness on here at a minimum) Have settled for the most emo collection of music possible...

If your ds is safely tucked up in bed, take to the sofa or your own bed with a big box of tissues and have a good wallow with or without a Wine

Take stock tomorrow when your first priority should be a trip to the quack to sort out your 'allergy'. followed by organising retakes

Re the sperm donor & his ancestors; nothing's likely to change so you're best advised not to shed tears over any of them.

See, sperm donor darling ex -p's parents are usually brilliant. But not so much as a response to the text I sent the evening I got back. Nothing.

Phoning doctor in the morning. Still have to wait for notification from uni regarding retakes.

Have you got any antihistamines for your allergic reaction?

The rest of it just take one thing at a time, clear up the shit (without focusing too much on it), ignore sperm donor (your DS has you) and resolve to take your uni modules again because you know you didn't give it the time needed.

Don't curl up and cry, be strong like you know you can be, and don't let it grind you fucking down Smile (hug)

Agentzigzag, not yet. I haven't had an allergic reaction like this for five years, but that time we put it down to Mum's dogs. This time, no idea...

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Just feel like utter shoite atm

Here, have a [hug] and a Brew and some Wine and some Chocolate (any of those that aren't emoticons should be!) You should probably have some Biscuit Biscuit Biscuit too (because you need them, not because this is a crap thread!)

Hopefully it will all feel better in the morning, but if not, come back here and moan take DS for a run around the park and treat yourself to an ice cream.

Take care.

TY, princessJenga. I'm booked in for a haircut tomorrow, so might give me a bit of a boost for the non-hayfever related stuff. Mum rather helpfullly reminded me it's father's day soon, earlier. Nearly had me in a blubbery mess...

Nope, not pregnant or pmt-ing, before anyone asks... Grin

Oh bless you, have had days like this. It will get better. Have a hot bath and an early night with a good book. And a big hug. YANBU. It's shit when it all happens at once.x

Ah, haircut. Much better than wine or tea! Take it easy and enjoy it Grin

If the allergic reaction hasn't gone maybe you could get a carefully placed fringe?

Can I just butt in please? Sorry for all the other stuff going on - but please be very careful with the allergic reaction... If it affects your airways (tongue or mouth swells) please phone someone straight away. (NHS direct or even an ambulance) Don't want to be a scaremonger but there are quite a few nasty allergens around at the moment...

Ps Crying is good - tears clear the eyes and make 'em less itchy!!

Report
DontCallMePeanut · 30/05/2011 22:17

Thanks, NonnoMum, dw, I will be careful :)

I'm using a slice of cucumber on the eye which is worse affected. Ironically, it's the eye I don't usually have problems with... Hmm But it's soothing it a bit
