AIBU?

To think that our dd's very expensive boarding school ought to be capable of providing adequate medical care?

And not requiring my dh (who happens to be a surgeon, but nonetheless..) to drive through several counties in the middle of the night to assist at an operation?

Not entirely happy with the French teaching either but that's another thread...

Going - No. The op took place in the medical wing. NOT happy. Though the girl is fine, thankfully

Is your name Mrs Rivers? Grin I'm surprised a surgeon can afford to send his daughter there tbh. Do you get a discount because he works there part-time?

What was the op?

How very odd - sounds like the sort of thing that happened in Enid Blyton books....

Why on earth did your DH go? Why not just say no, send her to a hospital.

Is this a joke about the Chalet School?

Ethically the dad wouldn't be allowed to assist/operate on his own daughter unless perhaps there was no-one else.Unlikely if he had to drive through several countiesHmm

YANBU - how outrageous, could they not have got the French chef to do the operation with matron assisting? Surely his classic culinary training would make him adept at tweaking out an appendix... Does the school not realise you are sending her there so you don't have to remember she exists until the hols? Any decent boarding school would simply send a letter suggesting you might send a tuck box and a few shillings for toffee...

I was most unhappy when last term my DD had to pace up and down in a storm with her beloved horse until a vet could be called Hmm

I know I shouldn't be eating it at this time in the morning, but a piece of spag has just been snorted through my left nostril, flying.

No doubt the offending appexdix was subsequenlty soaked overnight, pressed, breadcrumbed, sauteed in unsalted Normandy butter, and flambeed in Calvados, before being served for the delectation of the Head?

If that was the fate of my child's appendix I'd seek a discount off next term's fees.

A tale of callous disregard for the welfare of your child , montmartre, but couldn't your dd have sought shelter underneath her horse until the vet arrived?

She did win the match, however. [ proud ]

Meanwhile, dd2 had all her pocket money taken away and redistributed to the school ( bloody commies)
